I have had the most fulfilling, live changing experience working at ACPPA. I found this organization through a work-study program at my college and have been working there for 5 months. From the start, I have learned to appreciate the hard work that is put into making an non-profit organization be successful. ACPPA resembles the love I had for dancing as a child, however, the economic instability at home didn't allow me to continue perusing dance classes. ACPPA is able to provide amazing dance, art, yoga classes at affordable prices to families that need them. I have become a better person working at ACPPA and have been inspired to pursue a career in helping families in need. I wish that everyone knew how GREAT this organization is.

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... learning about myself and the passion I have in helping those families, especially those children, in Norristown who benefit from taking our classes.
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... working with the Artistic Director, Amy Grebe. She is an amazing person who gives and gives for this organization and continues to fight for her dreams in continuing the success of ACPPA.
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... very friendly, loving, and dedicated to the goals of the organization
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... become the BEST non-profit organization in all of Norristown. We would have a larger location, we would have bigger classes, we would have more dance and art classes, we would have more costumes for performances, a teen program, parent programs, ETC ETC
Ways to make it better!
  • My experience would have been better if... I were not a college student and could work more hour and accomplish more tasks that would help the organization. Also, it would be better if we were able to concentrate more in organizing events rather than worry about our economic problems.
  • If I ran this organization, I would... make sure that we had the amount of money necessary to continue all our programs successfully and more to create new programs to reach out to more students, especially teenagers who could benefit from having safe, fun classes keeping them off the street.
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... the economic struggles that continue to hinder our ability to create all the programs and host all the events that we wish we could provide for our families.
  • One thing I'd also say is that... I have never been involved with an organization that cares so much about the people that it serves and fights through all the obstacles in order to achieve the goals it sets out for itself in order to provide the best service possible.

My children have attended the Summer Arts program at ACPPA over the past two summers and we could not be more excited for this year's program. We first found the program when seeking a reasonably priced summer program for our children. But there is simply no comparison for what this camp teaches our children. All children from 3 years of age and up are exposed to the full gambit of arts and culture. They study music and dance, visual arts and art history, they even do yoga! My kids love the claymation class and the super cool music video they created last year. Last year ACPPA also offered an extended day program that not only gave them more opportunities to do art and dance, but they also did lots of fun "campy" types of things like baking projects and crafts. They even brought in a wading pool and a moonbounce! At the end of it all, they put together this great show for the parents with costumes and props. Its just amazing!

The Great!
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... super enthusiastic about sharing their love of the arts with children!

  • My experience would have been better if... we were able to attend their classes year round

My daughter has been taking dance and art classes with this organization since they began in the director's basement! It has been such an amazing experience to be a part of the growth of an organization that is providing a much needed service to our community. The families served by this organization are truly blessed and walk away with so much more than just an education in art or dance, they learn life skills that help to lift them from the many challenges they face.

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... my personal interest in the arts and how they promote community wellness and revitalization
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... the opportunities for my family to explore the arts together
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... supportive and kind. They take the time to engage each student and family.
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... reach its fullest potential!
Ways to make it better!
  • If I ran this organization, I would... challenge the organization to reach outside of its community both to increase support as well as to serve even more families

My daughter is currently taking a dance class at the ACPPA and we love it! Her teacher is caring and fun. I'm excited to have my children involved in their other art programs as they get older. ACPPA is doing great things in the Norristown community!

The Great!
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... Excellent!
Ways to make it better!
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... Lack of funding and having to raise their fees for classes, etc... This may discourage parents from enrolling their children in these valuable programs.

My children and I have been taking classes for 3 years. We started when ACPPA was renting space from the library and a local church. They have seen such growth and advancement. They offer my children a place to express themselves in the arts. We have taken classes in ballet, drawing, clay, mommy and me, yoga and sewing. We participate in all the added activities as well such as Parents night out, fundraisers, camps, etc. My children enjoy going to class at ACPPA.

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... The variety of classes my children and I have taken such as ballet, mommy and me, clay, drawing and painting, yoga and sewing.
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... watching my children excited about the arts. My 3 year old came out of her first ballet class saying "I learned how to dance!" She is excited to go back every week. My 5 year old is so excited about what she is making in clay, she can't wait to show us
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... very professional and caring for the children. I trust my children with every staff member they have had and I am grateful for each one that have encouraged my child's growth in the arts.
Ways to make it better!
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... FUNDING!!! It would be great if ACPPA could reach more child and grow to their full potential without the stress of worrying of how to pay for it.
