This is a group second to non of the help that they have given to the horses. Not only a great traing program but medical as well.

This group welcomes Boy and Girl Scouts, retirement community's and a great many more to come and spend time with the horses.

They are now a teaching
school for Vet Techs with a locale college.

My husband and I are second year visitors to Apache junction from Canada. We stopped by to see if the horses. Jim and Glenda came out and spent over an hour with us. By the end of the visit we felt like family.

They explained that for the first time in their history all horses were spoken
for, and once the adoptions are completed they will than turn attention to the next deserving horses. All the horses are well cared for, plenty of food and clean water. Good exercise and training programs in place. I was taken back on how they help place so many horses both from the property and helping so many other rescues place horses over the internet.

After an unexpected visit I found the couplee Glenda and Jim very helpful.
They stoped eating dinner just to show the horses to my grand childern, Glend even gave them carrots to feed to the horses.
I most state that the place is well run and very clean. The horses are loved with plenaty of
room to run. We spend almost two hours talking with them.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

that they make every one feel they are a part of the rescue. from letting the grand kids pet the horses to letting them ride on them. Jim has a great hand with the horses.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Donate more money to help them grow and expand as needed. They do need a hay barn and the cost is not to high about $6,000.00

I stopped by with my two girls to look at the hoses
And to my surprise Glenda went into the house and came out with some carats to feed the horses. I asked about all the people and Glenda stated that AJHR now has 5 full time volunteers. She also stated that they now have there own Wine Label
thru Benefit wines.
My Wife ordered some and we both enjoyed them so much we have made another order for all 6 types of wine. Best of luck to Jim and Glenda for all they care and love they give to the horses and special thanks for the volunteers that help out.

The Apache Junction Horse Rescue is a very well ran organization that has taken the steps to do the "Right Thing!" The staff and volunteers are not only very committed to the animals that they serve but to set a standard in how a small starting nonprofit should be ran. Their attention to detail in documentation, donor relations and community awarness shows that they are going to be successful in the longterm operation of this organization. As an Intern from Arizona State University with a degree in Nonprofit Management I am glad to have made this connection.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have seen this organization move mountains in planning a community fundraising event (fair) that has grown from a small micro event to a large scale production in cluding a midway, food venders and entertainment over 3 days at the City's Rodeo Arena in just 1 year.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Keep moving upward and onward.... they are in the right direction.
