I can honestly say that Any Soldier has changed my life. This is a WONDERFUL organization that helps so many soldiers. You get the opportunity to select soldiers to support. Since Feb. 2011 I along with my family, church family and co-workers have been able to ship almost 800lbs to our troops who are serving our country on foreign soil. Any Soldier allowed us to do this. I can not say enough wonderful things.

AnySoldier.com is a fabulous organization. I have helped over 100 Warriors who are deployed or have been deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Marty and his team are totally 110% dedicated to their cause

AnySoldier is a wonderful place to be able to support our military that are deployed. We are able to choose a contact to support and through email, letters and sending care packages, let them know that they are not forgotten. Marty and his crew do a magnificent job of helping the American public and even other countries know what they can do to provide support for those serving far from home. This site provides valuable information not only for supporting the troops but to get a glimpse of what the boots on the ground encounter on a daily basis. I have been a supporter of AnySoldier for years and have sent many packages to the contacts. I sincerely hope that they are recognized for their valiant effort.
Sincerely,
Vicki Chism

By reading posts made by contacts on the web site and by correspondence received from contacts that I have supported, I can see the impact that this organization has on our deployed troops. There are many troops that have no families to support them and Any Soldier fills that need.

Nothing. They are operating on a shoe string and do a great job.

How did you learn about this organization?

I was looking on the internet for an organization that provided a way to send care packages to the military who were serving in war zones.

AnySoldier.com is the most addictive thing I have ever signed on for in my life. Shopping for the goodies and writing the letters is wonderful but when you get that first "free mail" in the mailbox from one of "your" soldiers...it is an awesome feeling! Knowing that we are helping them by doing such a relatively small thing is great. I don't know if the soldiers or even the Horn's know how much this site does for the volunteers as well. It's a great charity and it makes you proud to be an American.

Anysoldier is a charity that allows you to pick a request from American soldiers serving in combat and send them a care package. Sometimes they want specific things that are hard to get where they are (snack foods from home, baby wipes, etc) and sometimes it's just a request for a letter or card from home to cheer up their day. We've been participating for several years now. My children help me decide which requests we're going to fill, go shopping with me for the items, we write a letter about what's going on in our lives at that moment and then they help me pack up the box and mail it. It's a good opportunity for me to talk to them about the sacrifices the troops are making, and how even though they chose this life it's hard to be so far from home for a long time. Sometimes we get letters or emails back from the troops which make my kids so excited. In fact, my daughter is bringing one of them in for show and tell next week. They love to tell their classmates and teachers about how we send things to the soldiers. I really can't say enough good things about Any Solider, I sincerely feel like we get back so much more than the little bit we are sending over to the troops.

As I mentioned earlier, my kids (ages 5 & 6) are very aware that there are American soldiers serving far from home. They feel good being able to send them pictures they've made and a box of snacks or games to cheer them up. Any letters or emails we get back are always greeted with a great deal of excitement and cherished. It's hard to quantify, but the goodwill we get back is so much greater than the money that we spend on the care packages.

I really can't think of anything, they are doing a great job in my opinion.

What specific problem, purpose, priority, or project prompted your gift?

I'm the daughter of a career Air Force man and feel a strong connection to military families. I'm lucky that my dad never had to serve in combat, and it makes me feel good to help those serving in combat in the little way I can.

Why did you make your donation at this time?

We try to make small donations year round, but we tend to do more this time of year so the troops will get a few extra treats in time for the holidays.

What would you tell others about this organization?

Really fantastic way to support the troops, even sending a letter or card is sincerely appreciated by the troops.

Technically I am a donor volunteer. After many years of donating items to other organizations for packages to be sent to the military I found anysoldier.com. I absolutely love the organization and the website. The Horn family has gone above and beyond in support of our troops stationed in harms way. Their dedication to this cause is truly astounding. I love the website. It is so easy to use to access address information for soldiers. I have been using the sit for a year now and ave been able to send out multiple packages and hundreds of letters with great ease. The Horns take the time to read and repond to emails giving great information for anyone who is unsure of what to do or how to start. I have shared the any soldier information with my daughter's 4H groups and now they are sending letters and packages too. It is great to see so many young people get actively involved in supporting our service men and women. Any soldier makes it very easy for anyone of any age to send their support.

I have received letters and emails from soldiers who received my cards and packages. They have become extended family and we keep in touch even after they are back in the states. It's amazing the responses I receive from the guys and gals for items that we take for granted. Toothepaste, soap, socks etc.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Work to figure out how to help the Horns. I am sure the diigent work they do to keep this organization running is exhausting.

Cant' think of anything right now.

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)

Yes, I have made many new friends. I am more aware of the dangers to our military. I am practicing the art of writing hand written letters again. Something that emailing and texting can never replace.

How did this volunteer experience make you feel?

Any Soldier, Inc. is a wonderful organization. I first used the site to find addresses for a charitable project for my son's school. It was wonderful for the kids and adults alike. The kids got so excited to send letters and goodies to soldiers around the world. It was such a hit that we continued doing the project. Now my son is in high school and we continue to send to soldiers on a personal level. It is such a good feeling to support the soldiers who are so far from home by sending "feelings of home" in cards, letters, goodies and mostly support. We have gotten several unexpected notes back from soldiers thanking us for the support. This is a fantastic organization. I wish everyone would adopt a soldier on Any Soldier, Inc.

I would be hard pressed to find something that needed to be changed. The Horn family has set this organization up to not only be adherant to the postal and military rules, but to protect the soldiers and to make sure that the participant volunteers understand the seriousness of their actions. I wish every American would contact a soldier to show their support.

Clearly, this Organization has helped Thousands of deployed personnel over the globe. It has helped provide acute awareness of the basic needs of all branches of U.S. Forces; while telling specific stories written directly from those deployed.
I have been supporting this organization through
Iraq and into Afghanistan. The satisfaction derived from my personal involvement has been overwhelming. Many of those supported by me have corresponded directly and even visited my home after their return home. The emotional highlight of a very rewarding experience.

Anysoldier.com makes it feel like Christmas all year. It feels so great to give to our soldiers, marines, sailors, and coasties. The News does not given many details on what they are going through the or number of them that get killed and wounded every day. Remember the Vietman "conflict"? The caskets coming off the planes on the News every night? None of that here - the politicians want everyone to forget our sons and daughters are fighting for OUR LIVES.

Remember those who fight for you, and let them know it! Send a card, a letter, or a care package through www.anysoldier.com. You will get back more than you give!

I have been supporting Any Soldier for about four years. I have sent letters and packages to many of our troops in both Iraq and Afghanistan. It makes me feel so good to feel that I can do a little to help those who are making such huge sacrifices for all of us. I have recieved many letters and e=mails from the troops telling me how much it means to them to get a letter or box from home. I think it is important for our troops to know they are supported by the people back home, and Any Soldier gives me a way to show that support.

Nothing. The staff works very hard to keep things organized to best serve our troops, while at the same time enforcing the guidelines that insure they are safe.
