My husband and I began sending care packages to our grandson and his team in Iraq in 2004. Then, in 2005, we discovered Any Soldier, and began using their program to locate names and addresses of deployed troops that they listed in order to continue sending care packages. They made it so easy to read the requests of the contacts and then just click on the one(s) you wanted to help by fulfilling their requests or just writing to them. We felt like the contacts were extended family, and appreciated the posted updates so that we could stay current even if we never heard personally from them. - Gran

My husband is home after 3 deployments and we're acutely aware of how lucky we are to have him back... and what it means for the other guys and gals still out there.

Every few months, we send a box of goodies to the troops and the Afghan people as a reminder of our blessings.
Anysoldier.com has put us in contact with great soldiers in remote regions who truly need your support. What an awesome program! :)

My husband was made aware of your program while in Iraq and we have contributed to it since he's been back.

In a perfect world, I'd make bigger Priority Flat Rate boxes, but that's USPS anyways. Anysoldier.com is great.

I obtained information regarding Anysoldier from my grand-daughters school newspaper - 5 years ago!!! My sister and I have been shipping every month since then - usually have 2 groups. I am never in the dark regqarding what to ship and not to ship, or how to ship and have only had great results with the mailing kits. A local Drug store jumped on the wagon 4 years ago and has continued to take donations for us in the small town I currently live in - York, SC. I am not sure WHO is the greatest, Walgreens Drugs or the wonderful people in the town who soooo freely give. Praises to the Horns for starting this site- a real blessing to the supporters and to the troops!!!! Even on a couple of occasions it was necessary to contact Marty, his reply was quick and answered my questions fully! I try to spread the word about this site every chance I get. Thank you Marty for all you do!!!

We have had hundreds of emails from the troops we have supported, all so grateful for this site. I am grateful also, that as 1 group returns home, I simply go to the site and c hoose another group with great ease.

I do not know of any changes that can be made. The most difficult thing we have encountered (not often) has been shipping and NEVER knowing if the boxes arrived.

Thanks to AnySoldier I'm able to support Our Troops when and where they Need it!
The sad fact is that most civilians believe that Our Troops are well provided for and they never go without.
While my son was deployed for his first tour in Iraq, he told me that three other Marines NEVER got
ANY mail at all! So I started to send them carepacs when I sent them to my son but once my son got back I knew that there were others in need of support and then I found this site were I'm able to pick Troops that need support. Some people are happy with the yellow magnet on their car but do nothing to support Our Troops! Not Me! Thanks to AnySoldier I can send support to Our Troops where they needed the most. God Bless You! God Bless Our Troops!
Sincerely, Audrey Sharp

Not that I needed any but I got thank you letters and phone calls from troops in Iraq and Afghanistan that received my carepacs and were moved to know that we care and pray for them.

Ask the Troops to be more specific with their needs. Some units don't allow the Troops to ask for anything and we have to guess what to send.

This is a class act. Maintained by folks who understand the military because they themselves have served, it is a site that truly serves the deployed men and women. It provides a way (user-friendly, I might add) that we can connect with our troops. We can send them letters and / or packages and are given information up front pertaining to that particular unit's needs. I have been using this site since 2004 and have sent mail to over 300 troops. I have built friendships with a number of them and have been able to support them through multiple tours. I've even gotten to meet three of them in person, which was a great joy. I work in a school and have involved my students in corresponding, as well. What a mutually beneficial endeavor!

I've gotten lots of positive feedback from the troops supported through this organization, as well as from their families. I have seen my students who received letters back from the troops walk a little taller, thrilled at hearing from genuine heroes.

I have been supporting Maines with care packages since the war started. If you do not personally know a Marine, it is very difficult to send care packages for security reasons. This website has bridged that huge gap between combat servicepeople and the general public without sacrificing the security of our warriors

Such a great charity. How many of you know soldiers? It sure gets lonely for many of them overseas, especially those without family or friends who write to them. Through this charity we are able to write letters and send care packages to the brave men and women in harms way. What a great idea!

AnySoldier.com is TOPS!! One of the greatest ways to show your support of our troops - select a group from the database and start sending your letters and packages. It's my favorite organization, and so professionally organized. These guys are real pros at getting you connected with any size, any branch of the military, any state !

Can't improve on perfect! But I would like to see them receiving more support and contributions to keep them going.
