I "adopted" a pony from her after all her fees and sale price he ended up being almost $1000. And he was said to be a gelding, And it cost me over $300 to have him gelded again. I contacted her regarding finding he had testicles and she never got back to me. However, communication was good while she was adding on more fees. But then I asked help to take care of gelding him, as that was an unplanned expense. I expected he might be older than noted or need dental care, as he did. But "adopted" a "gelding" who was scheduled to go to killers by a certain date- as said in the list. But did not expect a stallion.

AC4H has been around for over 10 years and has never had any complaints against them. There's this loon Sally Schrock who is an admitted animal abuser and neglecter who had all of her animal taken away from her because her home was condemned. She was denied adopting a horse and since then she and her insane friends continue a hurtful campaign against this rescue. Use your common sense first and just google Sally Pip Schrock and read all about her. It's a sick obsession this crazy loon has. It hurts all horses.

scam! whole place is scam on a scam to make money by sending fat horses to slaughter and getting horse lover's to rescue skinny ones that wouldn't bring money to slaughter.

I'm Christy's oldest daughter Lara. I live this. Half the people on here with the negative comments have never called, emailed, visited, or adopted. Nice lynch mob, with no experience with our rescue or our programs. No factual info. Just drama gossip. I'm 15 and i don't behave in this manor. I see there could be a lot of improvements in their behavior. And should see the things i see. I personally invite all of you to come out and visit.

This is all a smear campaign against the rescue by people that have personal agendas and drama llamas or others that just don't like Christy. Always drama llamas that are just jealous of this rescue because it's a success and other rescues that just don't like Christy and there's plenty of them! Just jealousy! Christy places hundreds of horses every year and she can account for every single one of them! Why can't people just let this rescue alone and stop the badgering? If she gets a little money by administration fees or other fees why not? She and her family do the work all week, every week nobody else!

AC4H like many other rescues has ups and downs, trying to help so many horses is a huge undertaking considering Christy does this on the side besides running her own rescue she tries to help the horses from the kill broker's feed lot. Nobody can say the horses are all fat and happy, they are abused and neglected and need help. This is their last chance and many people who we will call disgruntled seem to think that this whole thing should be easy and that the horses should be perfect. Deciding to make up their own reality instead of walking a mile in somebody else's shoes is doing discredit to the people who are really helping the horses out of this horrible situation. I say that AC4H has done a good job, where would these horses be without their help? Nobody is perfect but many have had wonderful experiences and have got friends for life with the horses they have saved with the help of AC4H.

Great rescue! Not only was I inspired to volunteer by Christy but I also adopted 2 horses. Always ready to help and answer questions when I needed help. I adopted 2 horses and 2 of my friends adopted horses. All 4 horses would have shipped to slaughter if CHristy was not out there in the trenches working to save these horses.
SHe lives for the horses and works tirelessly to end slaughter thru education and awareness. This rescue was also featured on Inside Edition and HBO Real Sports.
The reputation of AC4H speaks for itself! I am PROUD to volunteer for this great organization and with every link posted, my pride grows!

Another Chance 4 Horses, Inc. has been featured on Inside Edition, HBO, The Thoroughbred Times, The New York Times, The Blood horse magazine, Paulick Report, our local media the Reading Eagle, Channel 69 and much more.
