Without even having a personal experience with cancer, I immediately knew The Annie Appleseed Project was an organization I wanted to be involved with. It encourages everyone to adopt simple habits that will help improve their health and wellness. For those with cancer, the information The Annie Appleseed Project provides can make a huge difference in decisions they might make about their treatment. Anyone who has met Ann can tell how dedicated and passionate she is about reaching those who need it most.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

This organization encouraged me to live a more healthy and balanced life in hopes to decrease my risk of diseases such as cancer. I've sent the website to all of my friends and family to help spread the message and hopefully reach more people looking for options during cancer treatment.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

find a way to make sure it could reach all audiences with a need for information about complementary and alternative therapies. The demand for conferences and seminars nationwide far exceeds the budget The Annie Appleseed Project has to work with.

Ann Fonfa is a hero for every woman with Breast Cancer. She has dedicated her life to collecting and disseminating information about legitimate alternative therapies and integrative treatment for Breast Cancer. Every year she puts together an affordable conference (with great food!) featuring the doctors and practitioners who are leading the way in effective and health-restoring Breast Cancer treatment. Bravo to Ann!

I am in awe of what Ann Fonfa has done to bring complementary and alternative treatments for cancer into the public eye and what she has done to support cancer patients and their families. She is tireless in putting her vision into action and she has paved the way for many to make choices they might not otherwise have known were available, through her comprehensive website and through personal interactions. She also holds a torch for truth and balance by seeking out and drawing attention to new research that may challenge prevailing mainstream perspectives or assumptions about treatment. The beneficial repercussions of her work travel far through her website, and through regional as well as national conferences.

I participated in the 2008 Annie Appleseed Conference and was impressed, both by the level and array of speakers Ann Fonfa had gathered to present information that is not always readily available through mainstream medicine. The popularity of the conference was such that I’m sure a larger venue will be necessary for patients and practitioners hungry for reliable, intelligent presentations. There was a great sense of cooperation and Ann Fonfa took great care to see that the food available at the conference was in tune with the theme (i.e.- delicious organic, healthy meals and snacks). Ann does not pay lip service to health. She acts on her beliefs and knowledge at every level. I am a cancer survivor, health care professional and author. Ann Fonfa was extremely supportive so that I could make my book "After Shock: From Cancer Diagnosis to Healing – A step-by-step guide to help you navigate your way", available to participants. Her staff was also very helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend this conference to professional and patient alike.

The Annieappleseed Project has been a life-saver for me from the very beginning. How refreshing it was for me to find this site, which offered me alternative and well thought-out points of view. I was starting to have a number of questions about the conventional one-size-fits-all treatments that I was offered at the beginning of my journey. Knowing Annieappleseed made all the difference for me. Therefore, I was more than happy to accept, when Ann Fonfa asked me if I would be able to help her staff a stand at last year's Ovarian Cancer Conference in DC. Though every cancer is a completely different disease, I learned a lot at that conference, from the other participants. I feel it was very important for Ann and me to have been present there, to voice our point of view on nutrition and cancer, an aspect of cancer treatment that is all to often completely overlooked. Not that there is no interest in nutrition in the public, but patients are often too tired and too confused to think about looking in that direction, and finding out what they may need to change in their lifestyle to reduce their risk of recurrence. The Annieappleseed project is doing a fantastic public service by providing information on nutritional issues and complementary natural therapies that may be available and could enhance their chances at recovering or avoiding recurrence.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

raising more funds to pursue its crucial activities

Years and years ago, while doing research at the library, I first learned about the Annie Appleseed website and the promise of complementary medicine. All of these years later, I am still delighted to be able to review the website. What prompted me to write is that a friend found out information about a drug that she had never seen before. This information has absolutely helped her immensely, and she is very grateful for it. Thank you, Annie Appleseed Project, for your illumination of obscure, difficult cancer issues!

This organization provides a valuable service, of information, suppliers and experts to assist persons faced with cancer and thier families. The information provide on the web site available to all and the information provided by the natural health experts from all over the world is in valuable for cancer patients, especially those who have experience treatment failures using traditional medicine and have exhausted all treatment options other than to wait and die. The information at the conference provides additional safe recognized treatments as another option. Annie has also spent a lot of personal time money and energy help so many in the cancer community many times for free. I consider her knowledgeable and needed organization for the community. She is my mentor and has taught me how to use my illness to expand my advocacy to help other. I wish Annie and all in the cancer community blessing and health Princess

The menu for the conference was outstanding, the much needed healthy foods were provided during the entire conference. This would be the first time that cancer patients were not provided the usual sugar and starchy products that feed cancer, awsome.

Annie Appleseed is one of the few organizations that is dedicated to providing complimentary and alternative cancer information to the community. In this western world of allopathic medicine it is a blessing to have a leader in the holistic CAM world and Annie Appleseed is just that.

In 1975, I was diagnosed with Malignant Cervical Cancer. I decided to create my own natural healing protocol, instead of a Hysterectomy and other invasive procedures. Within four months of Acupuncture, Herbs, Yoga, Hiking in the Andean mountains of Peru, and Meditation, I retested to find that the cancer was gone. I had a child two years later, who just made me a grandmother. When I met Ann Fonfa, we connected on a very deep level and I knew that I would be in the very best company for learning and teaching others about how to take charge of their own bodies. I have sent many people to her website and even given them her phone number. She is there, present, alive and completely approachable. I know that out health system is in need of great repair and The Annie Appleseed Project is a home for those who are broken and need hope to keep going. The Annie Appleseed program deserves to be supported in any way possible. God Bless Ann
