My husband and I are true animal lovers and have adopted 3 dogs and 7 cats over the past 15 years. Last year, I visited ARF as a volunteer. I was extremely impressed with their operation, especially the care given to the animals and the diligence maintained to screen potential new families and match them with a compatible new friend. While there, I fell immediately in love with a senior gray tabby named Big Poppy. He seemed to know right away that he was coming home with me, of course providing I passed the screening and could provide a window with a view (essential) and a big fluffy blanket (preferred). Well, we got the OK from ARF that day given my neighbor also volunteers and could attest to the care we give our other animals. I came home with Big Poppy that night, and was delighted to find out that he was current with all his shots and certified as a healthy, senior cat! Big Poppy is now a happy, permanent member of our household and is a sweet companion and friend. ARF is a great organization! Regards, Margaret Gernert
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
their screening process and in the clean and efficient management of their eligible cat adoptee room. They are excellent!

ARF SEPA allows volunteers to contribute as often as they can, whether that's every week, every month or just once in a while. As a foster parent, ARF SEPA gives me a lot of say into who adopts the foster pets that I care for, and I get to follow up and stay in touch with adopters. It's rewarding and I love what I do.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
seeing homeless pets that were rescued get the care they need from me to help them get adopted, then see these pets be adopted into loving homes.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
seeing pets that would have been put down at shelters get adopted as a direct result of my fostering efforts
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
very friendly and helpful
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
recruit enough foster homes and kennel space to house all the homeless pets in the Philadelphia area, and get them all spay/neutered
