This is in response to the review from a previous post on here for the Animal Aid Humane Society. I believe that person was denied an adoption, due to aggression.

I have been a volunteer there for almost 2 years. The animals are very well taken care of. I spend at least 2 nights per
week caring for the animals and if the animals need it, i'm there much more. The rooms are cleaned daily, animals given fresh fill water and food every day, clean bedding to sleep on and treats, toys, love & affection. No animal would receive better care on the streets. Us volunteers do the best we can to make the best life for the animals at the shelter. The proof is in coming to the shelter and receiving love from the animals. Most of the animals come in ferral, scared or hurt from being dumped by their owners. We (myself included) take the time to work with them, with love and attention. None of the volunteers are paid to spend hours every week taking care of the animals. The reward is the love we receive back from them and to watch them become happy into a new, loving home.

I ask that you do donate to our shelter and/or become a volunteer with us. We recently had a meeting, with a goal to have a larger shelter. We just don't have the funds to do this. We thrive solely on donations from the public and volunteers like myself. The shelter is a no-kill, therefore we do have some animals that have lived there a long time, especially with most requests for pets under 1 yr old. Our oldest is almost 20 yrs old. I was told by another volunteer that he was born at the shelter. He also has had the same girlfriend for many yrs in the shelter. It's very cute!! It's also a testimony of how well we take care of the animals.

As an added note. On any night i'm working at the shelter and notice one of the animals seems ill, i contact the president and she promptly takes care of any sick animals. If the vet says an animal needs around the clock care, she's doing it. It is sad to see/hear the stories of some of our animals that are brought in. You would be amazed at the horrible things people do to animals. So you can imagine how it feels to see the animals play and love again, after the way they were once treated.

If you have any questions, you're welcome to call the shelter or email me at kittygal77@gmail.com. thank you for taking the time to listen to me. I apologize for rambling. I am just very passionate about what we do and i spend a lot of my time and money into it.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Build or purchase a larger facility, to help more animals and give our current animals more room to play or run.

This place is absolutely disgusting! They appear to be animal hoarders who have no clue as to what they are doing. Animal Aid needs to be shut down! Word of caution: DO NOT DONATE MONEY TO THEM!
