Animal Advocates in Los Angeles, California, and Director Mary Cummins offered reasonable, actionable recommendations that led to the successful resolution of a complex situaiton involving rabid bats affecting about 100 homes. Mary Cummins was always professional, consensus building, and supportive of finding the best possible outcome for the bats, the public, and the government. With her help, the public health and the welfare of the local bat population were preserved.

I would highly recommend Mary Cummins as an expert in wild animal rescue, urban-wildlife interface issues, and public information on animal issues. She also proved to very knowledgeable on animal shelter management.

How did you find this group?

Worked may way through a list of referrals. Other rehabbers may have been more vocal or conspicuous in the bat world, but they were not as helpful or familiar with local government operating procedures, and in some cases agitated the public to be uncooperative.

What, if any, change in your life has this group encouraged?

renewed my faith that there are still good people out there willing to contribute dispite adversity.

I met Mary Cummins few years ago in Belize at a wildlife sanctuary. While she was in Belize she helped a coati and a few other animals. I recommend her group highly and follow them on Facebook

I met Mary Cummins in Belize at a wildlife preserve. She rescued an injured coatimundi with only her shirt and hiked it many miles to the ranger station early in the morning. Sad to say the coati didn't survive but we were very thankful that she tried to save it. Please, donate to this deserving group of people.

Animal Advocates serve all animals in so many ways: rehabbing wildlife, animal advocacy in the public realm, sharing information, calling attention animal health issues, such as tainted puppy milk. What they accomplish with minimal funding is an example for all.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The number of animal killed in the public shelters.

I've worked in the wildlife rehab world for many years, and Animal Advocates does the best work, with the least resources, of the organizations in the area.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

that they take in all animals, not just the popular or cute ones.

This organization does vital work in an area of animal protection that is frequently unappreciated - urban wildlife. More importantly, this organization has great influence on others who work in animal rescue.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

more than 1000 animals per year rescued and rehabilitated, on a shoestring budget and with minimal staff.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

it understands that it must do constant outreach and education.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

highly credible and informed of the issues surrounding animal protection in this country, state and municipality.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

it desperately needs to expand its scope in order to save more lives.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

One time
