I have had the pleasure of working with Jo Deibel at Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue from the very beginning when she just started. Jo contacted me to advise her in the riding/evaluation aspect of the rescue. I am a professional polo player and thus an experienced rider and horse trainer. I would evalutate the suitablity of the horses in her program for prospective adopters. I have worked with Jo continuously since the opening of her rescue and can vouch that it is run with the utmost honesty, integrity and her main objective is that the horses in her care get the best care ever and a chance at a better life. She has seen many, many heartbreak stories, cases of neglected horses that make your hearts just cry. She tirelessly works through and keeps going to make the lives of these horses comfortable and their quality of life in the future to be free of future abuse. Jo is very passionate about this rescue and has put hours and hours of time, energy, blood, sweat and tears into every moment she spends with the horses. It is a rescue with complete and utter involvement coming from Jo and her staff of volunteers and advisers. I am a huge supporter of what she does and hope if you can help out in any way, through donations or even just letters of support to tell Jo what a great job she is doing and that her efforts are worth it, they are important, Please do! She is an unsung heroine and I admire her determination and dedication to the horses who are in her care.

I think Jo and her group do a wonderful job. They don't just rescue, but actively educate the public about the slaughter issue which is sorely needed.

Im writing to say I think Angel Acres does a phenomenal job !
A friend of mine has had an Angel Acres rescue for quite some years now!
The beautiful horse was hours away from slaughter when Angel Acres stepped in to help
That horse with one foot in the grave is now a beloved companion and multiple blue ribbon winner
It is apparent from looking at the financials of this non profit that they understand how to get a dollar to go that extra furlong ! I proudly support the efforts of Angel Acres and am dismayed that there are individuals out there who think it necessary to leave scalding reviews of this organization just out of spite or ignorance or both !

After looking over the financials of this 501C3 I am appalled at the small amount of monies that really goes to the horses care at this "rescue".

I first dealt with Angel Acres about ten years ago. We adopted a lovely TB nare who had been dumped at New Holland and rescued by Angel Acres. Since then, AA has become a national voice decrying horse slaughter and all its attendant abuses.

ANGEL HORSE HAVEN RESCUE, IS EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS. IT IS A HAVEN FOR HORSES. JO DIEBEL IS ONE OF THE MOST CARING AND LOVING PERSON WHO HAS A -A-TEAM WORKING WITH JO IN HELPING AND SAVING THE HORSES LIVES.....HER TEAM IS AS GOOD OR EVEN BETTER THEN MOST. SHE QUIT HER REGULAR JOB TO TAKE ON A TASK EVERY DAY OF HER LIFE IN SAVING AND HELPING HORSES. SHE AND HER TEAM TAKE IN ABUSED, OR READY TO SLAUGHTERED HORSES AND BRING THEM BACK TO HEALTH AND GET GOOD HOMES FOR THEM. JO, IS A ANGEL FOR HORSES AND OTHER ANIMALS. YOU CAN'T GET ANYONE BETTER THAN HER. TO ME SHE IS BEST IN SHOW. HER WHOLE FAMILY HELPS HER. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE NAME IS ANGEL ACRES HORSE HAVEN. SHE HAS BROUGHT STARVING HORSE BACK TO LIFE AND HEALTH.

ANGEL ACRES HORSE HAVEN IS EXACTLY WHAT IT IS. A HAVEN FOR HORSES. JO AND GREG DEIBEL, HAVE WORKED SO HARD ING HELP AND PROTECTING ANIMALS TO SURVIVE. JO HAS DONE A ADMIRAL THING. SHE QUIT HER JOB TO CARE AND HANDELING HORSES THAT ARE ABUSED, STARVED, AND READY FOR SLAUGHTER. SHE HAS BUT HER TIME ON FACEBOOK SO PEOPLE CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT IT IS TO SLAUGHTER HORSES, AND WITH THAT UNDERSTANDING STOPPED AND HELP AND PUT BILLBOARDS ALL OVER THE STATE TO STOP THE SLAUGHTERING OF HORSES. JO HAS A -TEAM WITH HER THAT TAKES THE CARE AND FEEDING OF RESCUED HORSES EVERY DAY. JO DEIBEL IS THE MOST CARING PERSON IHAVE KNOWN ON FACEBOOK AND , HOW SHE CARES ABOUT THE WAYT HE HORSES ARE BEING SLAUGHTERED. SHE IS TRYING TO STOP THIS FROM EVER HAPPENING AGAIN. JO, MADE A VIDEO TALKING ABOUT THE WAY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SLAUGHTERING THE HORSES. SHE LOVES ANIMALS AS MUCH AS I DO BY THE ONLY WAY I KNOW HOW TO IS SEND CAUSES THROUGH FACEBOOK. SHE DOES IT BY CARING FOR WAYWORD HORSES THAT WERE ABUSED OR READY TO BE SLAUGHTERED. SHE CARE FOR THEMA ND FINDS NEW HOMES FOR THEM. THIS IS A DECATED PERSON, AND I LIKE HER A LOT FOR SAVING THEM. Angel Acres was amazing, spoke to Jo Deibel about a sweet horse named Angel that was offered through there dollar program. Jo was 100% honest about the horse, she was contacted my references, etc to ensure Angel was going to a good home, she got me in contact with Angel's owner so both the owner and I were 100% certain that I was the right home for Angel. I truly wish there were more rescues run like Angel Acres. When I first met my new girl, Angel was EVERY THING I was told she was, she is absolutely wonderful and we love her so much. Thank you so Much Jo and Angel Acres for our sweet addition to our family and for making it a very painless process. I can not say enough wonderful things about this Rescue and Jo Deibel.

Excellent rescue. I can not say enough good things about them! A very dear friend of mine just adopted a beautiful mare from this rescue. This mare is exactly how they said she would be. "Angel" has been at our barn for two days and is already a barn favorite. Thank you so much for the work that you do.

I have the privilege to do volunteer work for Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue and I have seen the sweet, beautiful horses that are brought into the rescue. If it were not Jo Diebel and all her volunteers, these dear animals would most likely go to a horrible fate. Jo works very hard to ensure that every horse who gets adopted out is healthy, sound and re-trained. I know this first hand. I see it every day! Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue operates with honesty, integrity and with the utmost loving care for EACH and EVERY horse in their rescue facilities.
Not only does this rescue save horses but, they help people who have fallen on hard times via Mattie's Legacy Fund by providing money & resources for hay, feed, vet care, etc.
All these reasons and more are why Angel Acres Horse Haven rescue IS my favorite and top horse rescue for which I choose to volunteer for and support.

I became aware of, and involved with, Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue a little over a year ago. I have seen, petted, fed and loved some of their rescued horses. I look at each one and think how could anyone have sent this sweet, beautiful creature to the slaughter auction, abused or neglected it? But, at the same time, I am very thankful that Jo was there to save each of those horses from a horrible fate. Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue is a well run, outstanding wonderful organization and one that I am very proud to support.
