i stopped donating to this organization because they refused to explain what money was going for. 7 months after getting unsubscribed from them they had a "daniel hunter" call me asking to set up an appointment for air duct cleaning. i contacted american lung association twice asking them to confirm daniel hunter works for them and why they are involved in air duct cleaning and they refused to answer. the man i talked to on the phone was dishonest and untrustworthy. i believe the american lung association has been perverted into a for profit business with increasing amounts of money going to salaries, marketing companies and who knows what else. this latest bit where they send some nutjob marketer after people to do air duct cleaning is absolutely inexcuseable.

I used to give this organization thousands of dollars per year because we dedicated our life and our business to helping people beat cancer. At one point , the local office gave me an award and the national office took the award away because they felt that we competed with them. We help people to quit smoking. I donated thousands to this company and sponsored all of their events, but they couldn't see past their own profits. What a joke. Because of them I am very leery of all non profits. It appears that most of them could care less about their cause and only care about their executives salaries.
