Mission: Building healthier lives free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
Programs: Heart Disease is the #1 killer of women, yet awareness remains low.  Heart disease kills more women than the next 6 diseases combined, including all forms of cancer.   Go Red for Women is a natonal call to increase the awareness of heart disease and to inspire women to take charge of their heart health. It captures the energy, passion, emotion and intelligence of women to work collectively to wipe out heart disease through partnerships, education, fund raising and everyday lifestyle choices and actions. Women can get involved in several ways: Through advocacy - lobbying our legislative bodies to increase the national funding for cardiovascular disease research in women. Participate in National Wear Red Day and join women around the country in wearing red to increase the awareness of their #1 killer.  Distribute educational materials at your company, organization and family gatherings. Sponsor and participate in the Go Red for Women Conference that focuses on the education, awareness, passion and power of women to make changes in their lives and share the information with their loved ones.  This conference includes medical key note speakers, educational workshops and free health screenings. In 2010, our goal is to raise three hundred and seventy five thousand dollars  to fund womens related research, raise awareness and provide educational materials.
