Review from Guidestar
March 17, 2011

The American Go Association promotes Go in the US, and across all international boundaries working with Go associations worldwide. I've been an active member for almost 50 years, building the organization in Portland, OR., and most importantly, teaching children to play. Hundreds of volunteers like me do virtually all the work of the AGA. Unlike the early days, there are now professional players living and teaching in the US, as well as many strong amateur players teaching. I have recently got involved in the AGA's national fund-raising committee, where we hope to strengthen the AGA's financial resources to improve and expand its tournament and teaching programs.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The supoort the AGA gave us in Portland when we ran the 2008 US Go Congress was incredible -- without them, we could not have done it.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Expand Go education and outreach efforts. I would raise the funds to a., Hire professional media/PR people to 'put us on the map,' amd b., expand our teaching activities.

More feedback...
