Rating: 4 stars   16 reviews

Issues: Health

Location: 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN 38105 USA

Mission: St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital: To find cures and means of prevention for childhood catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. ALSAC: Led by Richard C. Shadyac Jr., Chief Executive Officer , ALSAC coordinates the fundraising activities of the more than 1 million volunteers and donors who support the hospital each year. ALSAC operations are overseen by its Board of Directors who are also the same volunteers serving as the St. Jude Board of Governors.
Programs: St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital: Over 5,000 patients are seen at St. Jude yearly. Most are treated on an outpatient basis, which helps them maintain a sense of normalcy with their families. In addition to the major clinics and treatment areas, an eye clinic, dental clinic, pharmacy, and rehabilitation services are included. The hospital maintains 60 beds for patients requiring hospitalization during treatment. •St. Jude has treated children from all 50 states and all over the world. •Patients are accepted by physician referral based on the patient's eligibility for an ongoing treatment study, regardless of race, sex, ethnicity, religion, or their inability to pay. •We are the only pediatric research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. •More than 85 cents of every dollar we received during the last three years has gone directly to patient care, research, education and training. ALSAC: We raise the funds and build awareness to sustain the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment while honoring the memory and heritage of our founder, Danny Thomas.

I was shocked recently when I was informed that the CEO or COO of this charity receives a salary of at least 6 million dollars annually. Why is there a CEO? I have donated in the past and I will no longer do so.It makes me sad to think that 100 percent is not going to take care of sick children..

St. Jude's Children's Hospital has been one of my charities for many years now. They do such wonderful service for the children in their care. It's so important that we take care and provide for our children.

i have sent money and i have helped the company in the past. i trust them and i think childrens international is doing some thing that others dont. i hope that all children who were sick are and were able to get the help they may need. the hospital is one that i recommend if you want to help some one in need. if you have a heart and are a human being who likes to help this is a charity for you. i have seen what they do and i believe they are true if you wanna see proof go in person to the hospital. like all charitys if you dont trust or like them than no one makes you send money to the company. its up to you to choose what you want to do in this world. we can help or we can stand by and do nothing.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

pictures of the children and reading the website reviews.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

the orginzation seems fine.
