Lifetime Recovery, previously the ARC played a pivotal role in my life almost 11 years ago when drug addiction and alcoholism had wrecked my life...I am one of the fortunate alumni to have experienced the tremendous care and recovery delivered by the staff, counselors, and managers at Lifetime Recovery. It is my greatest privilege/honor to return the favor to the organization that literally saved and changed my life by serving on its board. My hope is that Lifetime Recovery will grow and continue to serve South Texas for generations to come.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Both in my experience as a client and as a board member over an 11 year period.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Serve on the board which I'm currently doing.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

They really understand the nature and treatment modalities for alcoholism and drug addiction.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Seasoned, experienced, caring individuals who are into their work for the help they can provide to folks who are suffering...for me Lifetime Recovery was the last house on the block.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Provide a 10x ROI to the State of Texas by helping to get drug and alcohol addicts out of our prisons, off our streets and back to work.

Ways to make it better...

So many people I know that need Lifetime Recovery were turned away for lack of funding or available beds.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Lack of permanent residence, diminishing State and Federal funding, the need for larger facilities. The City of San Antonio owns the property and will not enter into a long term contract.

One thing I'd also say is that...

San Antonio desperately needs Lifetime Recovery!

My brother died of alcoholism. My frustration at not being able to find help for him and counseling and advice for myself to help him makes me extremely aware of the pain, waste and tragedy associated with this disease. An organization such as the ARC, which works directly with people, regardless of social standing or ability to pay, are what I needed. It is a great organization botjh on an individual and on a community level.

The Great!
