I am the one who wrote a bad review against Aid Our Veterans back in December 2013, I would just like to set the record straight. I was a very mad employee that want to try to hurt this company and I am truly SORRY for doing so. This company as do nothing but work hard to help vets in need all hours of the day and night.., they are truly a blessing to those who have serviced our country. I apology to all those I have hurt by doing this, and I apology to those who may have been hurt by my wrong doings...

I AM TRUELY SORRY,
Wiser

I worked for AOV from 2009, and shortly before the founder Toms passing this June 2013. Up this point Tom did well in his mission. But some were he started spending all the money by gambling, sending his daughters to college, buying them cars, his own personal boat, but they will claim the only boats and cars they had was donated some yes but not all were. The house in Essex Md. now has been abandon by the new president (Debra Smith), cause it is in foreclosure and in doing so she has left a disable veterans at the house to defend for himself and his wife as well, who has been with the company from the very beginning, what ever happen to leave not man behind? AOV recently held a food drive, supposedly to help veterans, not one bit of the food collected went to veterans like it was meant to do. The new president and her daughter as well as other non veterans took the food for them selves. So you can only image were the rest of the funds may be going. You may ask how do I know these things cause I been around and see and hear very well. Now AOV has pay for some of there employees places to live and in some case still pay there bills and most aren't veterans without DD214s. This company is ran now for the soul purpose to take care of themselves and not veterans like it started out doing. I seen this coming that is why I left, beside mismanagement from the office. This new president couldn't even do the accounting she was hired to do by Tom, he had to hire an employment service to do the books now she runs the company. On top of it all AOV pays her daughter for a full time job that she doesn't even do.. she attends college now as well. Boy they learned from the best didn't they. And if you completed to Tom about this he didn't want to hear it, so what was going on there, makes you wonder? So be careful before giving to this company cause all you are doing is paying for there life style now, them don't help veterans at ALL.. And to but the icing on the for you all, I was paid 30% at first of the money I collected before it was over with I was at 50%, gas and tolls all came out first from the collect bucket, and we even had to pay Tom for the items that are on the table for donations so you do the math. If two thousands dollars was collected and there was three hundred in expenses there is seventeen hundred left, I got half, that is eight hundred and fifty dollars I made as well as AOV.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

This is a great and growing organization. They have created 23 full time jobs around the country with 20 of them being formally unemployed Veterans. They have helped out over 500+ Veterans in just the last 3 years with everything from food, clothing, emergency heating fuel, stopping evictions and foreclosure's and so much more. Great Organization

Aid Our Veterans approached our organization in Annapolis MD. about bringing some recovering veterans from Walter Reed to our Burning of the Socks event. At first we were skeptical but Tom assured us that the men and women from Walter Reed would be very excited and happy to attend. I volunteered to be an escort for them and am I glad I did. To see these young men and women going through their recovery, and to hear their story's Yet No regrets! Not one of them was feeling sorry for their situation nor were they looking for sympathy or a handout. Their sense of their fatalistic state and belief in their country was over whelming. Being from Annapolis I have always been so proud of our service men and women attending the U.S. Naval Academy. But after visiting with these young men and women I am now in such awe of what measures of patriotism truly exist. Thank You Tom Conlan for all you do.

The Great!
