Let me introduce myself, My name is Marie and I am a victim of human trafficking and slavery. I was put into the care of Ahava kids two years ago by the court. I know you have a a very strong opinion about this matter and I'm here to shed a little light on it. Because this is something too that is very near and dear to my heart. Ahava kids saved my life!! For four months they actively sought help for me in every aspect possible. not to mention the emotional support and lifelong friendship I gained through out my stay with them. When no one else was willing to help, they were!! They helped me out with court, kept me hidden while I was being hunted, found me counseling, fed me, clothed me. Most importantly taught me that what happened to me wasn't my fault. They put so much effort into taking care of me. No one else would have done that. Not even my own family. I was a full time job! Still to this day I work very closely with them. Believe me when I say that I have been through a lot and can spot someone who is a scam artist and insincere from a mile away. Ahava kids should never be put in that catagory. It is a shame that this has happened to them. The one thing you have to remember is that this is a very new concept and is still very unknown territory. They will be criticized and questioned all the time for what they are doing, but the fact of the matter is that they are doing something. They are trying and that is all you can ask for. That is all I can ask for! I would know better than anyone that what they are being accused of is false and uncalled for because that grant helped to put my life back together again. I know first hand. I hope that this matter does not keep them from helping others like me, because they are so very good at what they do! Cordially, Marie

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

They saved my life. Before I met Ray and Leslie from Ahava Kids, I didn't even know I was a victim of trafficking. They showed me how what happened to me was abuse of the worst kind.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Work for them myself. I am planning to study social work so that I can help other victims of human trafficking.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

They have helped me and shown me that I can have a better life

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Dedicated, exhusted, and hard working.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Reduce the amount of men who abuse women this way.

Ways to make it better...

People understood human trafficking and the complexities of gettig people out.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Being attacked by people who do not understand the issue. Also, they are constantly being askef for money and networking by people who have their own agendas.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

PLEASE STOP SUPPORTING AHAVA KIDS. THIS CHARITY IS UNDER INVESTIGATION BY THE CT ATTORNEY GENERAL! Ray Bechard is a con artist. I tried working for Ahava Kids and found this was going on in Aug 09. I had nothing to do with the investigation, but I am telling you....this man is helping no one but himself. He may seem legit, but he admitted to me that he is

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Nothing. His houses stand empty. This was my primary complaint.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Fire Ray Bechard and have him brought up on charges.

More feedback...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Nothing. Ray Bechard is a fraud.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

None, I was the only employee. I was suppose to be paid, but remained a "volunteer" for 2 months.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Buy Ray Bechard a boat and a new car.

Ways to make it better...

Ray Bechard was actually helping people. I am a traffcking survivor. It didnt take long for me to figure out this guy was a scam artist.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Trust

One thing I'd also say is that...

I'm not bitter. I just wanted to help people like myself get out of such an unjust situation. I wanted to help them start over. After 2 months, I knew Ray didn't have the same vision.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

One time
