New York’s six-million-acre Adirondack Park is the largest park in the contiguous United States. Its wild, natural beauty is a sanctuary for wildlife and people. The mission of the Adirondack Council is to ensure the ecological integrity and wild character of the Adirondack Park. We envision an Adirondack Park composed of large core wilderness areas, connected to working farms and forests, and augmented by vibrant communities, all within a diverse mosaic of biologically intact landscapes. The Adirondack Council is the leading voice for Adirondack conservation. We are showing the world how people and nature can thrive together.

Reviews for Adirondack Council
The Adirondack Council passionately works to defend the 14th amendment to the NYS Constitution which by law protects the state-owned Forest Preserve in the Adirondack Park. It reads, “The lands of the state, now owned or hereafter acquired, constituting the forest preserve as now fixed by law, shall be forever kept as wild forest lands. They shall not be leased, sold or exchanged, or be taken by any corporation, public or private, nor shall the timber thereon be sold, removed, or destroyed.” To protect this land, the Council works to promote smart economic growth within Adirondack communities. We appreciate this work!!! Thank you!
