Great organization! They work in poor communities to help them find and own permanent solutions to their poverty and they fight bad behavior from governments and corporations that keeps people poor.
I really know my money is making a difference with them!
The Great!
- I've seen the results of this organization in... helping poor, rural communities that most other organizations seem to forget.
- What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... that they share stories from real people, on the ground. I feel like my money is making a difference to that particular person.
- The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... committed and passionate.
- If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... help minimize the impacts of disasters on poor countries like Haiti and Bangladesh by helping communities build their own preparation and response systesm to deal with disasters. That way, they don't have to rely on the charity of other nations. Poor people would have the resources to manage and implement their own solutions, solutions that work for their paticular community.
Ways to make it better!
- My experience would have been better if... heard more about what I can do - in addition to giving money - to make a difference.
- If I ran this organization, I would... talk more about the education work, which does not get much mention on the website but which is considered to be among the best.
- In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... increasing demands in a time when resources are tight.
