I'm currently a volunteer both with hands-on events and consulting with the Teams that are building the organization. A Good Idea is an amazing concept and has already executed so many events that have changed the lives of everyone they've reached out to - even for a moment, a meal, a warmer night...

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

I've already met so many incredible people who are all working hard in life and making time to reach out to others in their communities to make a difference, be it a smile or a meal, or maybe a little hope for a better tomorrow...

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Help thousands of people all over the world BE THE CHANGE in their communities!

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

There are a plethora of charities and non-profits doing good out there. So what makes A Good Idea different? The focus is to improve people, environment and world through kindness and generosity of spirit. Pay it forward, if you will. It starts with people; making others feel good creates a snowball effect that helps conquer negativity, social and environmental issues. The call to action is not to build homes or establish shelters, etc. Rather, by generating kindness and treating everything with respect/love (through actions), good overcomes and the bad dissipates. It's like the Beatles say, "all you need is love."

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

A Good Day - an event for homeless people in San Francisco. I've done a lot of homeless volunteering, and I've never seen people have so much fun, light up, and feel good about themselves. I was reminded that we are all the same.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I could never do what Jared Paul has attempted to do and is doing.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The other volunteers. Good people working together is magnanimous. Also, it feels so good to be making others feel good. Even a smile walking down the street can change your day.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Exceptional people who care about what is going on in the world.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

restore faith in humanity.

Ways to make it better...

N/A

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Getting more people involved who will take the time to make an impact and make a difference.

One thing I'd also say is that...

A Good Idea's model is what the whole world should operate from. It would be a much better place to live in!!

Should this review be counted for a specific campaign?

These guys are out there doing good things that bring the people together in the urban community and they do it for free - not to chase after money. Ostensibly, this is about community and service and it is just what the city needs, just what America needs. When we were out cleaning up garbage from the streets last week in the mission district, two people thanked me and said they liked what we were doing. It has a ripple effect that we hope inspires others to do good things also, but that we ultimately do for the inner cultivation and because it is good, right, and inspiring to ourselves.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

People getting involved and people appreciating what we do

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

do just as I have said in the other comments in this review

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

hands on work in the trenches with good people

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Awesome people - love warriors

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Be ruined - the entire spirit and purpose of it would be defeated by having that kind of money. Service is just that - service. You don't get paid, and shouldn't get paid, to do service work. Choose a job that is inspiring and/or somehow meaningful, but save these powerful and inspiring means of building up service and community from the money pit. This is about hope, community, inner cultivation and happiness not money.

Ways to make it better...

1) We did more hands on work, less talking and brainstorming about it 2) I like it if we let P.R. come as the work gets done, not to get recognition when only a few hours per month of volunteer work are happening. P.R. will come in its time and place, P.R. is crucial to inspire social change, but let's do the good work too. 3) Openness to the people present - the only people needed for the board of directors, activities directors, etc.... are right there in the meeting. I see that AGI has made great progress in this direction now, and I am very excited about that I know AGI is growing and maturing into an organic community and service focused group, and it has the potential to be a huge thing in SF transformation for service and community, giving people actual opportunities to serve, as well as inspiration to do so.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

The allure of recognition and money and the amount of time that can be spent on recognition and money when it is really supposed to be about actual physical work being done in the community to bring people together in hope and service

One thing I'd also say is that...

Keep up the good work, and don't ever heed anyone who suggests that it doesn't matter, or who doubts. EVery good thing we do in this world, in this life, matters.

This group is slowly, step by step, changing the world. There needs to be more people with this same view and kindness. I'm glad I found it

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Making change happen with myself and others

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Real People wanting to make real change, not just throw out ideas and do nothing.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Do allot more!

Ways to make it better...

I wouldn't change it...the experience happened the way it was suppose too

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the only challenge is within the people running the non profit. To truly believe with everything they are made of, that this dream will come true

One thing I'd also say is that...

We create what we think We want change, therefore it will happen!

A Good Idea is an amazing non-profit organization that I enjoy volunteering for. One such volunteering opportunity that truly touched and inspired me was "A Good Day." Several volunteers, including myself, held a function for the homeless in which we served them food, gave away clothing, hair products, free hair-cuts, art paintings, and a make-over. It was a very powerful and inspirational day. A Good Idea is an unstoppable force that is shaping up the communities of San Francisco.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

no 1 is perfect of course but the ppl i met here have many good qualities and they strive to be the best they can be nice patient wise i guess are some words to describe them

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

spread farther and make an even bigger change

Ways to make it better...

we had a few more of those little discussions when we break up into smaller groups

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the sacrifices that may not be made with personal issues versus the things that need to be done

One thing I'd also say is that...

change is inevitable but forgiving ppl for the way things are now is crucial for the change to be positive
