As I am a mother to 1 biological son and 2 previous foster children, I have had the priviledge to work with Beth both as my friend and as my photographer. With my foster children, I see their broken stories daily. Most of them are too young to capture a story in words, however with projects that A Face To Reframe offer, it gives healing and hope to children who can only put words in pictures.

To capture pictures of their brokenness to beauty and pictures they think represent their lives are priceless to their audience.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

having my foster daughter be photographed in a beautiful white dedication dress at 9 months old. I am also the Treasurer for AFTR and have high hopes and dreams for the projects happening.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

love to get every project funded 100%!

For over 20 years I worked with community organizations whose focus population was economically disadvantaged families. Our mission was to improve their lives and those of their children by empowering them to break the cycle of poverty. As I saw the determination of the mothers to give their children more opportunities than they themselves had had as well as the resiliency of the kids, I saw hope. They had a story to tell and I was privileged to hear, but not many hear...

Those who are vulnerable and disadvantaged are resilient and they have stories of hope to share. I see the work of A Face to Reframe as a powerful means of enabling this population in a unique and dignifying way. I am proud to serve on the Board of such an organization.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the mission of the organization, the planning for future projects with homeless youth, and specifically, the work with mentally disadvantaged youth in Turkey.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

increase funding to enable A Face to Reframe to carry out their mission. It's difficult to think some of the projects with women and children will not happen because of lack of funding.

Have you ever looked at brochure pictures or magazine photos of women and children in the developing world and wondered, "What if the camera were flipped around? What if we got to see their world through their lens? What if they were the authors of their own story?"

The potential answers
to these kinds of questions compel me to dedicate my time, money, and energy to A Face to Reframe. But it's not just a current vision with future hopes. Take a look at our past work and you'll get a picture of the amazing possibilities that lie ahead.
