On too many occasions, I have seen the good work done for first responders and their loved ones by members of the AZ 100 Club. They have assisted Arizona public safety families cope with the devastating injury or death of their loved ones and their forever changed lives. They have helped in cases involving serious or terminal illness. The 100 Club inspires folks to give much of themselves, their money and their time. From whatever point they get involved, often in the first few hours of an event, they continue to be there for survivors, family members, and the huge public safety family. It is a life-changing and uplifting support in its immediacy and throughout the years. There's a chemistry here. A bond shared by those who have been there and those on the front lines, together with the general public who are appreciative of their first responders and willing to help during critical times.

I had never heard of the 100 Club until my step-dad passed away. My step-dad was a Phoenix Police Officer who served and protected for over 20 years. In 2008 he lost his fight with cancer, and even though he did not die in the lie of duty the 100 Club stepped up to help our family both financially and emotionally. They were a huge relief in a time of grief, dis-believe and above all else a time of need. I tell people all the time about how they helped and encourage others to donate. I wish more people knew about the things they do because they are a huge asset to the public safety family.

On behalf of my entire family,

Thank you!!

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I wouldn't change anything about the organization itself, but I would like to see it get more exposure for the great things they do.

My son, Peoria Officer Bill Weigt, was shot and paralyzed 6 years ago, Dec. 17 2005. The 100 Club of AZ was at the hospital from day one. They helped Bill and me through some rough days. We both enjoy volunteering for the 100 Club whenever we can. Being a non-profit, it takes a lot of dedicated volunteers to keep money coming in for the large number of first responders in AZ. The staff is a joy to work with. They've really become our extended family.

The 100 Club of Arizona, that has been around for decades, provides a great way for us to support our First Responders in their hour of need, just as they support us in our hour of need.

My son is a police officer, but thankfully (and hopefully) we have never needed the assistance of the 100 Club of Arizona. But I am so glad that this worthy group is around for those in need.

I have seen the 100 Club step in and help law enforcement families in their darkest hours. Their committment and concern for families of fallen and injured public safety personnel goes above and beyond expectations. They are truly a soft place to land in the time of crisis. As the dependents of a public safety officer, my sons have also received scholarship dollars that have enabled them to continue their educations with less debt and burden to our family.

It's always been my desire to be involved in anything charitable that has to do with supporting law enforcement, fire fighters, paramedics, our first responders. Over the last 4 1/2 years I've gotten to know several police officers through the coffee shop I worked at and now, my own coffee shop that I just opened. It is because of these officers that I discovered The 100 Club and I made a decision before I opened that every month I would donate a percentage of my cash sales to them. As my business grows I intend to get more involved and do all I can to raise money for this wonderful group!

The 100 Club of Arizona provided me with three different scholarships. totaling $11,000, to attend Arizona State University. I didn't even realize that I would be eligible for a Scholarship, because my father was not injured or killed in the line of duty. But, because my dad is a Phoenix Firefighter who serves and protects his community, I was eligible to apply for the Scholarship Program. Thank you to the 100 Club for providing me with funds necessary for me to obtain a Bachelor of Science at age 20! I will be forever grateful.

The 100 Club of Arizona was first to my aid when my husband was killed in the line of duty 14years ago...they have maintained a strong relationship with my family to this day. Their support during the most difficult time of my life was so very helpful and will never be forgotten.

The 100 Club of Arizona provides financial assistance to families of fallen police officers, firefighters and other first responders. In addition to line-of-duty deaths, the 100 Club is now able to assist in cases of injury, non-line deaths and other areas of great need. I have seen familes helped at a great time of need, long before other benefits, if any, become available. I am a donor. I wish I could do more.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing the great relief that comes from having financial assistance during the initial, shock stage of grief.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

have more well-publicized events designated raise awareness. Out of a metropolitan area of over 3 million, only about 2,500 people are members of the 100 Club. This organization helps our most precious public servants and their familes; there should be more of us.
