Reviews for Wellspring Womens Center

I am currently an intern at the Wellspring Women's Center and the love and care that resides within this place is truly radiant. The old firehouse building that makes the center's home still holds the charm and essence of the historic Oak Park community and at the same time is inviting and welcoming. I was touched the first time I came to the center. Seeing so many women and children come together under one roof where they feel safe and at home was very inspirational. Its not just about a free warm breakfast, this is a gathering place for women of all backgrounds and walks of life to come and socialize and simply take a step back from life's challenges. The people that work here as well as the volunteers put their whole heart into this place and it is clear to see in how the center works and operates. I love that I get to be a part of this wonderful organization.

I interned at Wellspring for a year and had the unique opportunity to be professionally and personally graced by the women of Wellspring. The staff exemplify human kindness, and strive to touch the hearts of each guest. This organization has a tremendous impact on the women and children of this community, and truly conduct the business of helping others with dignity and love!

I worked as a volunteer at Wellspring once a week for seven years (three to four hours at a time) I've also worked at some of the annual functions over the years. This is without a doubt one of the best run, most open-hearted, and well functioning programs I have ever seen. It is a true outreach within the neighborhood. The Sisters and other staff who run this place are all at once warm, kind and no-nonsence. They truly serve. It is at first glance, a breakfast program but Wellspring is so much more. Even though several Catholic sisters founded and continue to run Wellspring, it is not a Catholic organization. They rely on private donations and a large group of volunteers. Anyone interested in finding a reputable charity to work for or donate to can rest assured that Wellspring fits the bill.
