Tucson Audubon Society is dedicated to improving the quality of the environment by providing education, conservation, and recreation programs, and environmental leadership and information.
Tucson Audubon Society provides environmental education to adults and children through outreach programs, workshops, and institutes. TAS also maintains the Mason Audubon Center for Ironwood Preservation and Environmental Education. TAS is a resource for birders, with services that include free field trips, nature shops, and an extensive reference library. TAS provides enviromental leadership in Southeastern Arizona, working specifically to protect and enhance habitat for birds and other wildlife. The monthly newsletter of Tucson Audubon is the Vermilion Flycatcher.

Last year I had the privilege of participating in Tucson Audubon's Institute for Desert Ecology, a four-day field workshop in ecology with emphasis on the habitats of the Sonoran Desert. I was amazed at how well coordinated the event was! The faculty was superb, the food was excellent, the setting was ideal, and the schedule was perfect. I learned more than I ever imagined I would. I would recommend this event to anyone.
