Stray Rescue''s sole purpose is to rescue stray animals in need of medical attention, restore them to health, and place them in loving adoptive homes while educating and collaborating with the communities served. Two no-kill shelters and over 200 volunteers.
1. Rescue & Rehab Program - targeting areas with a stray dog epidemic. Providing rescue, medical rehabilitation and animal adoption. 2. Nooterville- Collobrative effort with providing free spay/neuters for the poor. 3. City Pound Assist- rescues one third of all animals from Animal Control (city pound). Strays- rescue and adopt over 1,000 strays off the city streets. Funds the lethal injection so the City of St. Louis doesn't euthanize with an anitiquated gas chamber. 4. Senior for Senior Program - pairs up senior dogs with senior citizens on fixed incomes and Stray Rescue absorbs all costs for the dog. 5. TLC - a volunteer based program that reaches out to educate children about compassion for animals. 6. Rent-a-Pet - allows people to have a pet for the weekend. This helps our shelter dogs get some "home" experience and provides some doggie lovins for those who can't have dog on a permanent basis.

Stray Rescue proves that every dog has the potential to be the best friend you've ever known. They feed and rescue dogs in the greatest need in the St Louis area from extreme situations and provide the best medical care, rehabilitation and foster homes available so that every dog can have the wonderful life that they fully deserve. Stray Rescue uses professional dog trainer/behavioralist evaluation of dogs before they are adopted into their permanent homes and every dog has the opportunity to demonstrate the amazing power of their canine resilience. Stray rescue depends largely on dedicated volunteers who give of their best to the animals. St. Louis is incredibly lucky to have Stray Rescue and it's professional staff as well as the devoted volunteers who give innocent animals compassion and care.
