South Texas

Programs:

Southwest Mental Health Center serves short term acute care patients in a 52-bed psychiatric facility located on an attractive Texas hill country campus in the South Texas Medical Center. Patients range in age from 4 to 17 and are hospitalized for an average of slightly less than 7 days. During that time, the patients are assessed, treatment plans developed, medications assessed and initiated or discontinued, and therapy started.Partial hospitalization/day treatment may be used as a follow-up to inpatient care or as a substitute for it. Medical supervision is similar to that for inpatient care, but can be for a longer period of time, with the patient residing at home during the treatment. Any of the levels of care may be followed by outpatient treatment for some length of time. Outpatient services are available on site, or the patient may return to the original referral source or another treatment provider.

Reviews for Southwest Mental Health Center

I was nervous when I started reading some of the reviews out there, but my mind was certainly eased after the first day my daughter was there. All the staff are caring, sympathetic and devoted to what they do. My daughter was only 5 when she was admitted so it was equally hard for me to leave my baby overnight. Every time I called (which was plenty) they were sincere and patient. My daughter's "voices" went away and she was no longer suicidal. Her smile returned as well as a light in her eyes that we hadn't seen in a LONG time. She periodically asks if she can go back to Clarity because of her great experience there. Even if you have a little one that is in need of their services, rest assured your child is in good hands. I thank my lucky stars every day that we found Clarity. Thank you so much!!!
