Eliminate academic achievment gap (reading) though early literacy intervention. The gap between low- and high-income children's reading comprehension scores is over 40 points. Allow children to make friends for life with books.

The director had sent me an appointment after I expressed interest through 1-800-Volunteer. I arrived on time and was told by a surprised person in the one-room office that the director had gone shopping for office supplies.
