I have been a volunteer for 13 years and a recent addition to the Board. I have had first-hand experience with PSH on many levels including the activities around rescue, cruelty investigations, tremendous attention to the well being for animals in their care on and off the premises, legislative efforts and the admirable stance on engaging with the public to strengthen all of the above as well as to foster awareneness of the truth in sanctuary for all life.

PSH has my support in their efforts to grow what I feel is a strong foundation with significant potential to be an even greater force in caring for lives while maintaining a leadership roll in the work to end all cruelty and suffering.

A wonderful place where farm animals as well as cats and dogs can live in comfort while recuperating or waiting to be rehomed. The staff here is so dedicated and compassionate. A small organization that does a lot!

My husband and I rehabbed 3 of the Fox hounds rescued by Pasado. These beautiful animals might have been put down without the wonderful job PSH did to get them the help they needed. We were able to find 2 of the fixies great homes. One, we fell in love with and adopted!

My wife and I adopted one of the Chehalis fox hounds from Pasado's. This dog was so damaged from the hoarding environment he was saved from that even now, after almost a year, he's still extremely shy of people - but he's learning what a dog does. The quality of care at Pasado's is second to none - I know that Dooley (our bundle of joy) has a special bond with the Pasado folks that looked after him - and he's building that with my wife (it's more slow going with me).
I've been to Pasado's a good number of times and have never, ever, regretted the middling-large sums I directly donated or enabled the donation of to Pasado's.
Pasado's staff, in personal acts of good will, have also helped us incredibly in bringing Dooley around (and I hate to say, caring for him when we left town - life savers!

I first got introduced to Pasado's through a co-worker so when I wanted to adopt a dog I immediately thought of Pasado's. At that time Pasados still had many of the rescued foxhounds (they were rescued from a sever hoarding case) available for foster or adoption so I signed up. The staff was excellent and helped me with any and all questions. They were very frank with some of the things I could expect to encounter with one of these special dogs as well as making sure I didn't have any unrealistic expectations of what these dogs could handle in the beginning. When I went to look at the dogs the staff was very helpful in helping me pick the right dog for me and my situation. I went to look at one dog but, after speaking with the staff, I ended up with another. I thank every person involved for helping make that decision. I started fostering Truman and, after 5 months, adopted him. He is one of the best decisions I have ever made and I know that he would not be in my life if it wasn't for Pasado's and all of the help and guidance I received from the staff. I continue to support the organization and fully recommend anyone looking for a new animal start there. The staff will be honest with you and will make sure that you do not go into it without knowing what you are getting into. Thank you Pasado's for helping me find my hound - he makes me smile every day and life would not be nearly as enjoyable without him.

My husband and I started out fostering a foxhound that came from a hoarding situation. Our dog was one of many that Pasado's helped rescue from horrible conditions. The staff at Pasado's were so helpful giving us much needed advise and guidance before and after bringing Chuck home, we could not have done it without their support. We eventually adopted Chuck, there really is not a day that I don't feel grateful having this guy in our lives, he makes us laugh, he makes us proud of the dog he has become. I can't imagine what his life could have been without Pasado's.

I am disheartened to read some of the previous negative reviews about Pasados. I have been working with their organization for the past 3 1/2 years and have found their people to be caring, compassionate and very dedicated to helping animals in need. While volunteering for another organization I was approached by a man who had been observing a travel trailer parked on a street with around eight cats and two dogs confined in it. I checked out the situation, contacted one of Pasados animal abuse investigators and they responded immediately, worked with the local police, and removed the animals. They do a fantastic job removing animals from abusive situations, rehabilitating them, and then finding appropriate loving homes for those animals.

Pasado's Safe Haven is a well managed, efficient organization fighting animal cruelty on four fronts with separate programs. I got involved when my daughter started volunteering on Saturdays. My exposure to the animals at the sanctuary and the incredible staff compelled me to get involved.

While on the Pasado's tour, my son said "I didn't realize animals were so funny, or had personalities."
