It is my privelege to work directly with Operation Ward 57 director Brittney Hamilton to match Wounded Warriors needs with an agency that cares to make a difference. Thank you to all board members and volunteers who make a difference every day.

I first encountered Operation Ward 57 when I was working at the WTB at JBLM. I saw how hard they worked to bring events to our Soldiers and decided to become a volunteer with the organization. In the last few years, I have seen first-hand how much caring for our wounded, ill and injured Service Members matters to the organization. It is a bare-bones operation, run almost entirely by volunteer support, and the will and passion of the Director, Brittney. I'm proud to support Operation Ward 57 because I know that money raised goes directly to Soldiers and their families, and that we really make a difference for them.

There is certainly a lot more publicity given to those who have "borne the burden" of defending America than we saw during the Viet Nam era; however, that still doesn't translate into the actual help needed by our veterans. Operation Ward 57 provides excellent opportunities to demonstrate our support for our warriors who have left so much back on the battlefield -- they have given me the opportunity to show my gratitude with my hands, my mind and my power tools. I get to use my actions to say what words cannot.

They were a huge blessing and help to our family. When my husband was given the go ahead to be allowed a meal other than hospital food, they brought the whole family dinner. They also provided my husband a much needed haircut in the hospital. During our stay from June - October at Walter Reed they were an awesome group of people that I always knew I could go to if we needed anything. Everything from a hug and an encouraging word to items we needed for the apartment or things to keep the kids entertained. Whatever we needed they were there for us.

I am a disabled veteran and single father. Due to an old student loan being paid from my disability before informing me i fell into a hole that just being late on rent within the month had me facing eviction. I literally was at whits end when I was told about Operationward57. After making contact and filling out the application. They were able to help make an impossible situation, hopeful and helped when others are income based and disqualifying. Eternally greatful!!!
