Civil Rights, Environment, Human Services
13231 Wittmore Cir Dallas TX 75240 USA
M.O.S.E.S., founded in 1992, in rural east Texas when citizens sought to protect their children from the devastating effects of exposure to toxic chemicals emanating from a hazardous waste facility. Government agencies failed to enforce laws that protect public health, safety, and the environment, sending their own toxic waste to be dumped there. While fighting environmental injustice, M.O.S.E.S. found poor/minority communities receive the lion's share of dangerous facilities, albeit they are the least able to muster resources to protect their families. M.O.S.E.S. works nationally to educate and assure public and government awareness of these threats, scrutinizes those engaging in activities that may expose children, and assists communities in protecting their children.
