Children & Youth, Crime & Law
53 N Duke St Rm 303 Lancaster PA 17602 USA
LAVORP practices Restorative Justice, which asks who was hurt by crime, what are their needs and whose obligations are they? This contrasts to the traditional Retributive Justice system, which is only interested in what crime was committed, who is to blame and what should the punishment be. LAVORP provides opportunities for offenders to be accountable, learn the impact of their actions and make amends to their victims through face to face meetings. Victims can work towards closure, put a human face to the incident, get questions answered, tell of their expriences (part of healing) and be empowered to be part of the justice system.
