Reviews for Kids With Food Allergies

Rating: 5 stars   Featured Review

My son was diagnosed with multiple food allergies at 10 months old. My husband and I were both new to the world of food allergies with no family history, and to say the least, a bit overwhelmed about how to navigate this new lifestyle and keep our son safe. Somehow I stumbled upon the KFA website and it was so amazing. There were forums- full of helpful, welcoming people who were living the same challenging life and more than willing to answer my questions. I was/am still breastfeeding my son which meant an additional set of challenges- there was a specific forum just for this topic which was such a source of support and comfort for me! There were tons of recipes- sortable by which allergens were excluded, so easy to use! There were easy printable cards for reference when out shopping of all the names for hidden allergen ingredients- made going shopping seem less daunting the first few times and I still carry them around and reference them nearly a year later. There were tons of official references and information provided by allergists and others in the field. They have a beginner's guide that is free to download. I read the whole thing and felt so, so much better about the path that lay ahead. It gave me confidence that we could handle this. Not to be cheesy, but KFA was like a light and an oasis in a dark, scary time. I am so thankful that I came upon their site in my overwhelmed period of google-ing after the diagnosis.

I have recommended KFA anytime I hear of another parent with a newly diagnosed child. If I have any allergy related question, KFA is always my first stop to try to find the answer. It is absolutely an AMAZING resource for parents or other caregivers of children with food allergies.

Kids with Food Allergies is the largest online community dedicated to supporting families dealing with food allergies. With a fabulous recipe database, experts, and peer staff, parents have somewhere to turn when their kids are diagnosed with food allergies. It's great to belong to a community of people who really get it!

My son has multiple food allergies and this group has been very helpful and supportive. I joined when he was an infant and now he is 15. I still post questions and comments and would recommend it to anyone dealing with food allergies. The doctors are great but the advice from parents is the best :-)

After my son was diagnosed with multiple life-threatening food allergies when he was 7 months old, we were so overwhemled. And scared. We had a lot to learn about keeping him safe and healthy. After frantically searching the internet for help, I discovered KFA. It was and is an endless resource for support and information. I have learned so much there! My son is now 3 and he is thriving, thanks in no small part to KFA. It's the reason I am still sane and he is healthy and safe. Oh, and the recipes are awesome too!

I love Kids With Food Allergies Foundation. As a non-profit organization that always has their fingers on the pulse of what questions and concerns their members need help with, the wonderful free webinars they produce for the public, and the vast amount of experience and expert advice available to its members is superb. The original food allergy community and still the finest. Proud to support their efforts!

KFA saved my sanity and helped me keep my child alive with all of their info, support, resources & recipes. The volunteers are amazing. The founder is very active and a role model for us all. There are many food allergy sites. In my opinion this is the best, and the only one people should go to to accurate information. I believe they were the pioneers. I know people have tried to copy their model and documents and start their own for profit groups. I love that they have a world class medical advisory board. The board, leaders and employees don't get paid, last I knew. If they do now, which I doubt, it'd be nominal. They truly are "not for profit".

KFA genuinely cares about the cause of children with food allergies. They provide free materials, seminars, and a network of support. I am always happy to support KFA especially because there is never this perpetual fundraising push - they provide quality content and donors support them because there needs to be access to this data.

My daughter has multiple food allergies and I love this organization! They have a helpful database of recipes, which is so critical during those first "what do I feed her?" days and beyond. The community boards are full of people willing to help. Their webinars are top-notch and lead by experts in their respective fields.

The Kids With Food Allergies Foundation helped me when we could not figure out why our baby was so sick. Their support was invaluable as we figured out my son's non-IgE mediated food allergies, asthma, eczema, and reflux. Later when we needed to figure out safe recipes KFA once again was there for us. I have been a client, donor, and volunteer and cannot say enough good things about them.

My daughter is 7 years old and is thriving and we have KFA to thank! We have been aware of her milk allergy from the time she was 2 weeks old. Her first 2 years where so hard, I found KFA after her first anaphylaxis at 2 years. They have been my main support through the years. There are so many changes as children grow with how their allergy affects their lives physically and emotionally. It is so valuable to hear from other parents who are going through it or have already been there & can give guidance. I have also been able to educate myself, our family and our schools with the webinars and educational material they provide. All I have learned from KFA has made a huge impact on how full and wonderful her life is with her milk allergy...and how healthy she is:) I'm so grateful we've had KFA in our allergy journey, to support and guide us during the difficult times and to share our joy when we've figured things out! Thank you KFA!
