Theres not enough words to express my appreciation and pure shock at this amazing organization.... Wow! Breath taking and amazing!!!!!
Their goal is to inspire hope and that they do! Both in the families they help and in the volunteers as well. It is encouraging as a volunteer to see families who are suffering through far more than most of us have, all while maintaining such a strong spirit of hope and peace, despite the chaos of their everyday life. Beyond the encouragement though, IOH blesses these families with memories they will cherish and never forget. During the last retreat, families (and quite frankly volunteers too) enjoyed trips to Disney, Universal, and Sea World, with special access privileges, all within a 3-day stretch. Alongside the fun, IOH provides guidance and preparations to the families as they continue to face the realities and challenges of their life-threatening illnesses. Blessed I could (and can) be a part of this selfless organization that puts the legacy of other families so high on their list. Whether you believe or not, God's hand is most certainly at work here! And His love is on display.

I was blessed to be picked for an Inheritance of hope legacy retreat. Our experience was something that words can not explain. From the day that our family arrived, until the day that we left and beyond, they were caring, loving, hard working volunteers. We went to an Orlando retreat which included magic kingdom, universal studios, and sea world. My husband could not stay for the day at magic kingdom because of the heat, so the volunteers stayed with our three kids, who will never get the chance to go back. They got to experience something that we have always wanted them to experience thanks to IOH. The retreat starts with great surprises and ends with great surprises. sure there are some counseling sessions but you are NOT required to speak if you don't want to. The counseling is only for two hours out of your day and it really does help if you have a lot on your mind. We now have connections with people who are always going to be on our side. This is an amazing experience that I wish we could do over a hundred times.
IOH is one of the best rune non-profits that I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. Their Legacy Retreats are amazing experiences for families facing the loss of a parent. They provide resources that are not available anywhere else. The staff and volunteers are all dedicated, kind and caring individuals. They far exceeded our expectations.
Thank you for making my daughters' birthdays (sweet 16 and precious 12) the most special birthdays ever! It makes me feel better to see those smiles returned to their beautiful faces!
My family and I were blessed to be an IOH's Legacy Retreat recipient, attending their May 2015 Orlando Retreat. We had an AMAZING time. The volunteers were wonderful -- seeing to our every need, oftentimes before we even knew we were needing it! Many close connections were made -- we all have many new friends, people who know exactly what we are experiencing because they are in a similar place themselves.
Absolutely awesome! If anyone has money to spare this is where to donate. The whole organization, all the volunteers and all the families they are helping is just amazing. Finding out I had cancer was scary, to say the least, this group really gives 200percent to helping families like mine deal with this life threatening illness. I cannot say enough about how caring and helpful this group has been for me and my family, it is like we have all become truly part of a bigger family.
Once again one of the most if not the most amazing experiences in my life. Such a wonderful community was built and lasting friendships were made. Even with the growth of this retreat it still had the same feel as with fewer families. Personal connections were made between everyone. Also all the little details were covered. IOH thought of everything that could have happened and were prepared for it.
AMAZING once again!! This was my 4th retreat to volunteer for and the IOH TEAM never forgets one detail it seems, if they do Id never know it.
I love the passion, love and devotion IOH shows, all the Smiles on the Families faces is worth every moment of my sore feet and lack of sleep.. LOL
Id serve every month if it was possible.
Way to go IOH your amazing and Kristen and Deric started all of this Joy by listening to Gods calling...
We just got back from our Legacy Retreat experience. I don't want to be obnoxious, but I did rave-blog about it here: http://www.elisebarrett.com/2015/05/inheritance-of-hope-our-legacy-retreat/. It was simply amazing.
