Homeless & Housing, Human Services, Crime & Law
3 West 29th Street Sutie 805 New York NY 10001 USA
Housing Plus Solutions mission is to establish and operate safe, affordable tenant-managed Sunflower Houses with supportive services for women and families--a model that can be replicated in small and large communities. Our primary focus is to work with women who have a chronic history of homelessness, are in recovery from substance abuse and may have had a criminal justice history. Many of the tenants are reuniting with children who have been in fostercare.

I met The founder while the CFO for a social service organization in Harlem district, New York City. Rita Zimmer is selfless and dedicated in pushing forward the issues of homeless women and families in New York City. I joined the Board in Jan 2007 and served actively for 3 years but relocated to the Bay Area and gave up my role in January 2013 due to distance and local commitments in San Francisco homelessness cause.
Rita and the Board of Trustees at Housing+Solutions expect nothing but ensure the success of this venture, which has gained accolades and commendations for excellent and selfless acts. Women who had one way or the other entangled with the law and given the second chance. it is a remarkable endeavor and deserves the generosity and support from those who would like to make a difference. Give a little it makes the world go round.
