I did not plan on adoption the day my baby girl, Marissa chose me to be her new mom! Jim was so great moving me through the process. They love all there babies that come to them, care deeply about there welfare. Marissa is the joy of my life and iam so greatful for the love they gave my girl before we found each other! I hope that anyone that can donate their time, money, or spread the word about this wonderful organization do so!!! Thank you for your tireless efforts to make a cats life so wonderful! "Marissa" and Roxanne
For The Love of Cats is a fantastic, loving and caring organization. They ensure the kitties in their care find the forever homes waiting for them. Thanks to FTLC's we have the love of our beautiful boy Hershey. Jan, Jim and their volunteers are passionate about the kitties in their care and running their organization with honesty and integrity. We drove an hour from our home to work with them and would do so again in the future.
After my 18 year old car died, I adopted a kitten from For the Love of Cats. She had received excellent care and handling, and has been the best cat ever! Their volunteers are the best.
I got 2 cats from For the Love of Cats. The staff was so friendly, helpful, and professional, I was very impressed. What they are doing for the cats in our community is awesome. Their facility is super clean and the cats are very well taken care of. If anyone is looking for a cat I would definitely recommend them to go to For the Love of Cats.
I adopted my beautiful gray and white male kitty Winslow in October 2008. Mr Winslow brings joy to my heart every single day and it was a total meant-to- be adoption. Jan and Jim Rich were encouraging and supportive of this adoption! I think they are the greatest at what they do. They are extremely thorough, caring and simply amazing human beings that have an endless love for the feline population. Their love is contagious as you can see in their wonderful foster staff. I always recommend For the Love of Cats to anyone I know that is interested in adopting a kitty. When I had to make the decision about sending my oldest kitty to Kitty Heaven, I had contacted Jan via email and she gave me really great advice and support. I had not even adopted this cat from their organization and Jan was more than willing to help me do the right thing. This non-profit organization gets the highest rating in my book!!! :)
We have adopted two cats from this organization and we are thrilled with the emotional well being and health of our cats and all of the amazing volunteers at the shelter! We will be back for another cat soon and would go nowhere else. Jan and Jim are a true blessing to our community!
We have adopted three cats from The Love of Cats. The last kitty had a health issue that we couldn't afford to take care of. Jim and Jan got an appointment with a specialist in Tampa and took care of everything! Our kitty is 4 years old now and in perfect health thanks to Jim and Jan. They are our heroes!!
About a year and half ago I was searching for a female black cat because our friends had one and I loved "cat sitting" for her. Since this was after the season for black cats, I couldn't find one anywhere. One day I came across the website for "For the Love of Cats" and saw a picture of a female black kitten - I fell in love with the picture. I called and was amazed to find out "Mistral" (now called Misty), was still available, but did not weigh enough to be spayed, so I had to wait two weeks for her - after waiting months to find her, that was no problem. My husband and I drove almost 2 hours in pouring rain to pick her up and we were so impressed with the shelter's cleanliness, spacious cages, and friendly staff. Misty will be 2 on Nov. 1st and she is the best thing we have ever done - she is truly by baby and has brought so much joy to our lives.
For The Love of Cats is an extraordinary nonprofit on Marco island, FL. I am a donor because I am proud to be able to help this organization and the wonderful people who take such loving care of cats. They rescue so many cats that people abandon. They make sure they are healthy by working with vets to take care of any medical issues. They work tirelesssly to find people who will adopt and truly love the cats. They give so much of their time and energy to this cause and also keep their shelter spotless. Thank God for people like them!
When our beloved cat"Sqeeek" passed away after 15 years, we contacted For The Love of Cats. What compassionate and dedicated people they are! They told me of a recently rescued mama cat that had small kittens, and to come to the shelter & visit. HUGE "family cages"- clean, fresh, and little kitties running about everywhere! We were encouraged to join the kittens in the enclosure, and just play and let them be " humanized" What fun it was! We took the runt of that litter- Bella Luna" and she is the sweetest loving cat. We are proud to donate to Jan & Jim's work- and know what a caring impact their work has made to the overpopulation of the cats in our area.
