The YMCA of Boulder Valley is an association of people of all ages, abilities, ethnic groups and religious affiliations who are united in a common effort with a worldwide fellowship, putting Christian principles into practice to enrich the quality of spiritual, mental, and physical life for all. The YMCA strives to be inclusive in all program areas and in its leadership.

Youth development: the ymca of boulder valley is a leader in nurturing the potential of every child and teen. Every year, the ymca helps more than 50,000 local youth through programs such as before and after school care, school day off programs, after school enrichment classes at the boulder valley elementary schools, day and resident camping, summer camp for english language learners, achievement gap program with a local boulder valley elementary school, youth sports, teen leadership camps and leadership programs, water safety programs, swim teams and swim lessons. All ymca programs offer a range of experiences that broaden cognitive, social, physical, and emotional growth. Expenses include subsidies and direct financial assistance that support 3 out of every 10 youth. For additional details of the impact of these programs see schedule o.
healthy living: the y advocates healthy living from the inside out - spirit, mind and body. In 2014, 85,000 people were provided the supportive relationships and environments they needed to successfully pursue good health. Adults participated in diabetes prevention programs, physical rehabilitation, programs for parkinson's and cancer patients, health screenings and lectures, fitness and social opportunities for active older adults, group exercise and specialty fitness classes, personal training and "spirit mind body" classes such as yoga and stretching. This is particularly important as our nation struggles with work/life balance and personal fulfillment. The y offers the healthy kids & families program and the program, mend, which provides both prevention and intervention of childhood obesity. Our family programs bring families together, offer education, support, nurturing, and social networks that build relationships and strengthen family bonds. See schedule o for additional details.
social responsibility: the y provides a variety of programs that help people deepen positive values, learn the value of giving back, and commit to learning. The y partners with more than 20 local community organizations to identify needs and respond to them - such as programs for at-risk teens, after school volunteer work, leadership in training programs, internships and values based programming. The y also houses and/or provides program space free of charge for the safe exchange program, the foster parent training program, and intercambio esl classes. In 2014, the y engaged 6,000 youth and young high school students in programs that developed social responsibility, strengthened the community, and help build the foundation for generations to thrive. For additional details, see schedule o.
