I came to WIN Family Services, Inc. (WIN) on October 31, 2005 as the Executive Administrative Coordinator and Al Law's, CEO, personal assistant. In March of 2008 I assumed the role of Personnel Manager while continuing most of my previous responsibilities. Working for WIN is not always easy - lots of work often without a lot of time to complete required tasks - however that is okay because I know that I am doing GOD's work. I am so grateful that GOD lead me to WIN. Through Mr. Law's excellent unwavering leadership, Family Strengthening Training and the WIN Model, I have learned how to be successful not only in my business world but also in my personal world as well. The staff at WIN supports the community's youth in so many ways; supporting them to mature into strong successful adults. When I first started at WIN I was not sure if it was for me because it was so different from anything I had experienced before; having worked in the corporate industry, mostly in Human Resources for more than two decades. It didn't take me long, however, to realize that I could learn a lot working at WIN. Now I know that WIN will be the last agency I plan to work at. I plan to retire at the end of next year; however only part time because the thought of leaving WIN completely is something I cannot rationalize because WIN has become part of who I am - I plan to work for WIN as long as I am physically and/or mentally able to do so. WIN - What I Need - is exactly that; I need WIN to be the person I have become; and I don't want to work anywhere else.

I can not adequately express how grateful I am to be part of this organization! I have been blessed to work at WIN for four years and truly can't imagine working anywhere else! Our social workers and counselors are dedicated and tireless in their work with our foster youth and their families. We excel at reunifications and the work we do with birth families is amazing! Our leadership is committed to excellence--for our foster youth, foster parents, and the staff! We are always in need of donations to help support our unfunded DREAM program and help provide gifts for the holidays--your money will be well spent to support foster youth!

WIN Family Services has provided me with a great opportunity complete my MSW internship. While there, I have witnessed their outstanding service and support to the families in which they serve. The staff at WIN exemplifies the true meaning of family with the children, their families and the staff.

WIN has been the experience of a lifetime. While I've only been with the agency for a short time, i have been immediately reminded of what is true purpose. WIN embodies excellence and devotion not just to the youth, but to the entire family and friend network that surrounds. WIN has taught me through Family Strengthening Training how to care for our families in a practical sense that doesn't simply do for them, but to a greater extent builds them up as a whole so that they may be strong and do for each other. It's DREAM program features extracurricular crafts, music and sports groups that reach out to our larger surrounding community in a truly interactive and effective way. With no other agency, let alone company have I ever seen, experienced or had a greater pleasure working with than WIN Family Services Inc.

WIN Family Services is a unique organization whose acronym surpasses its generalized meaning. WIN (What I Need) goes beyond basic needs by exemplifying Core Principals (Godliness, Excellence, Teamwork and Service) and utilitizing the Family Strengthening Model. This combination encompasses each youth, foster parent, employee and partners in the community with the same level of care, commitment, consistency and compassion. As a current employee with WIN, I am honored to work alongside collegues, leaders and a CEO that truly defies what a typical organization looks like. Mr. AL Laws, CEO always greets you with a friendly smile, and personally welcomes you to share any current challenges or innovative ideas on a regular basis. A unique concept coming from an extremely busy CEO! All in all, a wonderful place to work and thrive in.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Open more programs, specifically an Independent Living Program and Day Vocational Program.
