Mission: Wildlife Alliance’s mission is to protect and preserve forests and wildlife for future generations. We work directly with communities and governments to improve forest management and institute good governance to comprehensively address the devastation of ecosystems and combat the illegal wildlife trade. Our programs in Southeast Asia and the Russian Far East fight forest crime in high biodiversity areas, and actively promote diversified agriculture, community-based ecotourism, and reforestation. We create economic incentives and build political will within communities to preserve the environment.
Geographic areas served: Southeast Asia and the Russian Far East
Programs: Forests We provide direct protection to forests by training and equipping park rangers to prevent poaching, illegal logging and forest fires; working with communities to establish land demarcation; and engaging in reforestation projects that provide jobs to communities while helping to preserve the forest. Wildlife Our Wildlife Rapid Rescue Team rescues animals from poachers, restaurants and markets, and works with the Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center where we rehabilitate, care for, and release animals rescued from the illegal trade. Communities We provide sustainable jobs to rural communities through our community-based agriculture, ecotourism, and reforestation projects to provide incentives to preserve their natural environment. Advocacy We work at the national and global levels to advocate for policies that will support long-term conservation efforts.

Wildlife Alliance works on the frontline to save and protect some of South East Asia's - and indeed the world's - most endangered creatures. They work closely with locals and have had an enormous impact in restoring precious ecosystems and developing sustainable practices. And all this on a minimal budget. For their hard work and consistent efficacy, they deserve full support.

This is an incredible organisation. I have visited their field sites many times over the past ten years and am always blown away by what they accomplish with so little funding. This is truly an organisation that doesn't waste a penny and the animals are cared for extremely well. They need your support!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Cambodia, various sites. I have seen the rescued animals come into the wildlife sanctuary and receive medical attention and long term care. Animals that can be reintroduced to the wild are sent back while those that have horrible injuries or cannot care for themselves in the wild are protected for the remainder of their lives. The organisation also has wonderful awareness building programs to educate the local communities about the importance of preserving their natural resources.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

encourage more people to donate to them.
