Whiteside County Crimestoppers, Sterling, Illinois was organized in December 1981. I was elected to the Board of Directors in 1987 and elected President in 1992. We are a 501 (c) 3 NFP public charity. All donations are tax deductable. You are invited to view our web page, which also has links to other possible crime prevention sites. As of year ending 2009 WCC has issued 3943 tipster numbers; had 490 cases solved; Value Drugs/Property recovered:$1,044.577; and $92,590 rewards paid out. These and other detailed stats are available on our website www.whitesidecountycrimestoppers.com Our dedicated coordinator Ron Potthoff has been with us since inception. WCC meets monthly to discuss rewards. In July 2010 we will have a matching funds (from MWA) fundraiser: A Country Music Show from Branson, Missouri held at the Sterling Colisium at 7 PM on Saturday, July 24. We also partner with other organizations and projects in an endeavor to educate the public in crime prevention. As you can see from our stats WCC is effective.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my active participation in community activites,as well as my experience of over 45 years employed in the social service field.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

seeing 'the bad guys' get arrested & convicted through'tips'secured thru our organization;seeing the victims receive some justice thru returned property and/or guilty plea. The creative fundraising endeavors that have resulted in a safer community for all!
