Wncap served 429 clients in case management, assisting with benefit applications, locating housing, utility and other financial assistance, and application to drug assistance programs. In addition wncap conducted bi-weekly hiv/aids support groups.
in wncap's hiv prevention programs, 85 individuals were enrolled in voices/voces. Over 500 hiv rapid tests and 250 hepatitis c tests were conducted throughout the 18 county service area. In addition, approximately 10,000 individuals were recipients of hiv/aids awareness programs in substance abuse centers, after school programs, in-school sessions, community centers, and other locations. 100,000 condoms were distributed in our region.

As a volunteer for western carolina aids project,the people of this agency really work for the clients and their needs.Their medical needs are met(medical needs are met even if a client doesn't have private insurance,medicaid or medicare)thus,the case management professionals are on top of the clients needs ,social needs(picnics,outings to a summer camp),volunteer services include a buddy program(matches clients with a trainned volunteer),fundraising programs,other programs are education,housing - just to list a few. There ia a food bank in this area,Loving Food Resources,for persons with hiv/aids. they work with western north carolina aids project for a clients food needs. I do like volunteering at western north carolina aids project.
