I have had great experiences with the Ward 7 Arts Collaborataive. Their passion for preserving African American history and culture is in line my mission to preserve African American history and culture in film and video. They have been responsible for broadening my scope and knowledge of the community known as Ward 7 and Deanwood in Washington, through commissioning my services as a documentary producer to introduce me to Mr. Ira Blount, the subject of a documentary I produced for the Ward 7 Arts Collaborative. Through the success of this documentary, they have commission me again to produce a documentary short on the live and career of the African Dance Griot, Melvin Deal and his African Heritage Dancers and Dummers.
