Mission: To establish and maintain a museum for the inspiration, remembrance and presentation of the memory of all america's veterans and of their sacrifice for america's freedom. To educate the general public by the collection, research, preservation and exhibition of the artifacts, personal accounts and historical facts relating to the history of america's involvements in armed conflicts to preserve this nation's and the world's freedom. To promote any activities that will enhance or support the purpose of the museum. To direct all museum operations, improvements, fund raising activities, and hold in trust all funds designated for the museum and its operation.
Programs: In addition to special events for veterans, the museum hosted programs to rememberthe veterans of our nation's wars & conflicts. World war ii, pearl harbor, korea,the cold war, vietnam, pow remembrance day, the desert wars, & the present war. The 10th anniversary of the "9/11" terrorists attack was remembered with aspecial display. All events were well attended & therapeutic for many veterans. The use of the event center has exceeded expectations as has the attendance &income. This is the result of additional advertising, increased visitors, &the excellent service provided by staff & volunteers. During 2011 the parking lot was finished & paid for. The museum was given the5" deck gun from the uss colorado, which is on display in the parking lot. Themuseum was also given a 1967 uh1-h huey helicopter that will also be put on display after it receives much needed repairs
