Urban strategies made a grant to delgado community college in 2014 for $83,089 for workforce training as part of the innovative workforce program in new orleans.

leadership development & sustainability: urban strategies provides services that build the capacity of community residents to act as leaders to their communities, to seek out programs and services that benefit their families, to advance the economic self-sufficiency of their families, to overcome barriers to employment, and to promote the overall stability and quality of mixed-income housing communities. Major projects that fall into this category in 2014 include: the organization serves as the fiscal agent for urban employment initiatives, a not for profit corporation that sponsors the "green streets" social enterprise project, providing opportunities for employment and social support to young adults with barriers to traditional employment; the innovative workforce program in new orleans, and the community liaison program (over 2,500 households served nationally. )

planning: urban strategies works with residents, developers, local service providers, funders, and other stakeholders to plan mixed-income housing revitalization projects with physical, social service, and economic development components. Urban strategies develops human capital plans that integrate social service support into the physical redevelopments of communities and match local, state, federal, and private resources to those efforts. In 2014, urban strategies made a grant of $233,000 in connection with a fundraising effort for the flance early learning center. The effort generated incoming contributions of $109,200 in 2014. Planning expenses from other ongoing activities in 2014 were $680,261.

affordable housing - interestaffordable housing - loan abatementspolicy development - urban supports the continual development and refinement of policy in the areas of housing and urban development, at the federal, state, and local level. Affordable housing development - urban serves as lender to 12 affordable housing sites in st. Louis and kansas city through the missouri housing development commission's affordable housing assistance program (ahap), which collectively house approximatel 1,600 households. Assistance to other organizations-miscellaneous donations made to organizations urban strategies works with. Urban also supported tulane university in its work related to a sustainable housing study.
