TAAG is an extremely reputable animal rescue group who works collaberatively with all other area rescues. No drama here! These folks know what they're doing. They are focused & effective. Help them however you can. They have private foster homes for shelter animals that would otherwise be euthanized.

TAAG's effort is encouraging and subsidizing spay/neuter of all dogs and cats. They subsidize the cost for low income individuals and/or families. TAAG is also very involved in trying to find homes for dogs and cats. Members regularly visit county animal shelters in Transylvania, Henderson and Buncombe counties. If they find desirable dogs and/or cats they will find foster homes for them until they can be placed. Members bring the animals to the Petsmart in Arden every Saturday. TAAG has developed an excellent reputation in the area and therefore receives many calls from individuals asking for assistance in placing an unwanted animal. The members try to assist. Ninety percent of money spent by the organization is spent on the care of the animals.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I've personally experienced the dedication of the members of this organization. I have witnessed the hours devoted by the members to the animals. Several of the members put in 30, or more, hours per week in caring for the animals.

If I had to make changes to this organization I would recruit more individuals to assist in their effort.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the satisfaction in knowing that we have found good homes for neat dogs and cats who did not have to be put to sleep.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

very compassionate and willing to give many hours of their time expecting nothing in return.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

build and staff a large enough shelter to care for the unwanted dogs and cats.

Ways to make it better...

I can't think of anything.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

to have more residents spay/neuter their pets so that the number of unwanted dogs and cats is reduced. Another challenge is to encourage the county build the new animal shelter ASAP.

One thing I'd also say is that...

it would be nice to have more money and more folks to assist in this effort.
