Mission:
Throggs Neck Association for the Education of the Exceptional is a non profit organization that began back in 1969. It was started by a group of parents of mentally disabled children when there were no support groups. The members then consisted of Down syndrome children. We now have multiple types of mentally disabled people. Our mission is to provide a social setting and support that will enable the mentally/physically challenged, to develop their potential, help them spiritually, socially and athletically so that they will better fit into society.

On Sept 10 through 12, 2010 thirty of our members and their families took our annual weekend trip to Pine Grove Dude Ranch. We had a BLAST! We can't wait until next year to get together again. Thanks to all who came and made the trip so much fun...
