I had a great experience at The Rose. The staff was very caring and gentle. The doctor was amazing! I also loved the fact that my mammogram helped them serve other women in my community who did not have insurance or the ability to pay.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I left my appointment feeling reassured about my health and great because I'd helped them serve other women.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

build a bigger parking lot.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The quality of care is outstanding! Plus, I help another woman by going there.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Friendly and welcoming. The personal attention was fabulous.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Serve many more women in Houston and the surrounding areas.

Ways to make it better...

There was more parking. It took me a while to find a spot.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

One thing I'd also say is that...

The Rose sees and serves both insured and uninsured women, those who can pay, those who have difficulty paying and those who cannot pay for their exams with the same level of dignity, care and professionalism. This quality I believe sets it apart. The facilities are not only impeccable but pretty, the staff is committed to the mission and they provide the opportunity for paying clients to partner in supporting and empowering those less able.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The growth in the number of women receiving mammography screening and diagnostic testing.

The Rose is a very soothing, comfortable atmosphere for mammography and screening services. In addition, the people are professional, courteous and kind. I've been to several places in Houston through the years, and the Rose easily made the experience the best it could be. In addition, where else can you go to get something you are going to do anyway...and benefit someone else just by doing it! It's a fantastic concept, and I've sent as many people as I can over.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

making the Rose an ongoing part of my personal healthcare experience.

I learned about The Rose at a time in my life when I had no work, no money and no insurance. I was just a single mother trying to support my daughter and myself by doing real estate deals that were turning bad quickly. After a simple mammogram, which I had postponed until I could find a free screening service, I was informed that I needed further testing before it was too late. Not what I wanted to hear, but there was hope. The nurse who had contacted me told me there was a group, The Rose, that would work with my salary (or lack thereof) and my insurance (or lack thereof) to get me further testing. I was able to get enlarged films of the area in question at a reduced rate. Once the radiologist looked over the films he gently urged me to have a biopsy. Again not what I wanted to hear, but The Rose helped me out by scheduling me with one of their doctors who performed the biopsy. The biopsy revealed that I had two forms of cancer: one slow growing and the other very aggressive. If it had not been enough that The Rose provided me with medical services that I could not afford, the doctor blessed me by removing all of the more aggressive cancer from my body during the biopsy. Because of The Rose, I was able to seek out treatment for breast cancer that probably would have left my one and only daughter, who was 6 years old at the time, without her mother. I wish I could say The Rose did this all just for me, but it is what they do for all women, no matter what their background or ability to pay. Please help me in supporting The Rose so that more women can get early detection for breast cancer and live.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the people. Everyone made me feel special, even though I was not feeling special at the time. But each person I met and each doctor that tended to me made me feel as though I was the only patient therefore I would receive all of there attention.

The Rose is a first class organization as exemplied by the recent award presented to the Rose by the Better Business Bureau! This is an Over the Top organizaiton with excellent leadership, staff and doctors. I am also a patient at The Rose and have received superior professional service when I have had my appointment there. They also do a first class job of out-reach to the public through their mobile units and through their participation in community health fairs.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the care of a best friend who The Rose diagnosed with breast cancer and did not have health insurance. The Rose helped her to get treatment through their sponsorship program.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

win the lottery and give it to The Rose.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the people involved from the founders to the staff to the doctors to the CEO all first class professionals!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

first class professionals.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

provide additional treatment for uninsured women including all encompassing treatment of breast cancer a first class breast treatment hospital

Ways to make it better...

I could find a couple of million dollar donors who are as passionate about the work of The Rose as I am.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

getting enought insured patient to help pay for the uninsured patient and getting enough additional funding through individal and corporate support

One thing I'd also say is that...

if you are looking for an organization where your money will make a hug difference in the life of a women this is the place to donate!

The Rose is the only breast healthcare organization, for-profit or non-profit, that I will ever choose to provide me with any/all my breast healthcare needs. The mammograms taken at The Rose are considered to be of the highest quality; the diagnostics performed efficiently and professionally by physicians who specialize in breast diagnostics/disease. I trust the staff of The Rose and know they are dedicated, caring people. "Something" in my breast was seen the day of my annual mammogram. When Dr. Melillo told me she would like to have an ultrasound performed, I felt a little unsettled. Dr. Melillo reviewed the ultrasound (on the same day) and told me everything was fine -- no problems. SAME DAY results...unique. Anyone who has ever waited for a ultrasound results know how anxious one can be. SAME DAY results makes a tremendous difference to those of us who have waiting! ! I am not only a patient of The Rose, but also am a proud supporter and believer in the work this organization performs for the insured and uninsured. In my opinion, there is no better!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the families who have had their mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, etc. saved by The Rose's commitment to saving lives by providing and obtaining life-saving services. The Rose provides the same quality services to both insured and uninsured.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

provide patient navigation for the insured.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

I know they do what they say they will do and do it in a first-class, caring manner.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

passionate about their work.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

pay off its building and basically be debt free!

Ways to make it better...

I have no comment for this section since my experience could not have been better.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

funding, continuing to provide quality services at low or no cost to the insured due to the increasing numbers of uninsured in the Greater Houston Area.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I don't know of another non-profit organization, with as small a budget as The Rose, that gets more done and provides quality breast healthcare services to more people.

As both a client and donor, I have only great things to say about The Rose. As aclient, I've always been told that my insured mammogram helped those without insurance. I have personally referred someone without insurance when she found a lump in her breast; she was seen and treated almost immediately. My company will continue to financially support this organization.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my own community. After UTMB closed in Galveston after Hurricane Ike, The Rose stepped up to the plate to help serve that community as well. Apparently The Rose turns no one away -- what a blessing!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

communication. The Rose continually informs donors and clients through their monthly newsletter and e-mails. A special "thank you" to the staff for an on-going job well done!

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

real people just like me. I have observed many volunteers and fundraising events that are there

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

continue to help eradicate breast cancer through early screening and detection. It comforts me to know that in these difficult financial times if I no longer had insurance, The Rose would see that I was treated if needed.

I am so thankful to have a place to go for my mammogram as a young woman. when I found an area of concern at the age of 29, I was glad to know that The Rose has a Young Women's Clinic serving those uder the age of 35. The staff is friendly, experienced and truly care about your breast health. I feel good knowing that my insured mammogram helped a woman without insurance. The Rose is AMAZING... saving lives every single day.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The number of women served who do not have medical insurance. Some of these women would not be alive without the services of The Rose. It really is that simple. They are angels, true angels!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Genuine care concern and expertise. In addition, knowing that just by having my mammogram at The Rose, I helped a woman without insurance. It is a priceless gift.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

incredible!!! I have never been to a doctor's office where everyone is nice, friendly and treated my like I was the only one there!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Save millions of lives from breast cancer. NO ONE does is like The Rose!!!

The Rose really provides something you don't find often--people who care and treat you like an individual. I had had an inconclusive mammogram and had to repeat the screening, with possibly more tests required. The Rose repeated the mammography and Dr. Parsons read it immediately and determined I needed no further testing. In other words they didn't conduct unnecessary screening, even on an insured patient, as well as respected my time and concern and provided me with a complete review.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

helping others and treating everyone with professionalism, competence and caring.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

It amazes me what they have achieved.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Seeing them increase their services and helping more uninsured patients annually.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

top knotch.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Serve more people and build more services in house.

Ways to make it better...

I'd like to see more insured women use The Rose so they can help more people.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

getting the word out and getting more contributions for their mission.

One thing I'd also say is that...

The Rose is a place I refer my friends and tell others about.
