Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: Our Mission Statement: The Mosby Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable purposes, to assist in the care of critically sick, injured, abused and neglected dogs through financial support and public education. To insure Mosby's legacy of kindness and compassion to all he met endures, Carole Adams set up "The Mosby Foundation." The purpose of the foundation is to raise money by donations and contributions to give dogs the second chance in life that Mosby was given.

Target demographics: dogs and their owners help get much needed veterinary care

Geographic areas served: The United States

Programs: financial assistance with veterinary expenses for low income dog owners who qualify. We also have a very successful, low income spay/neuter program where we work closely with clinics and veterinarians to help decrease the number of unwanted litters of puppies. We also provide free dog and cat food to low income pet owners.

I want to take this opportunity to tell you how great the Mosby Foundation is. I live on a small farm in Tennessee and have rescued many animals over the last 20 years and by the grace of God have been able to take care of them up until a few months ago. We have lost 2 of our horses and have a pup Amelia that has been diagnosed with a nasal carcinoma. As you can imagine our vet bills are piling up. We had exhausted almost everything in order to get Amelia the much needed radiation treatments that she needs to improve her quality of life and extend her years. I wrote to the Mosby Foundation and gave them our story and the nicest lady named Karin answered my request. After a short and painless process they are able to help us. I am so very grateful and thankful for all that they were able to do for us. They have answered our prayers!

My Dante and I are so deeply grateful to The Mosby Foundation. Cancer and chemotherapy are a HUGE scary expense and because of the amazing Mosby we are one step closer to getting Dante's treatment completed. Darlene is absolutely fabulous! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

My baby, willow, suddenly needed surgery. I didn't know what to do, I was distraught. I was denied for pet credit, I've never had a credit card before. I didn't know what to do. Some people said that maybe I should just put her down if I couldn't afford it! I was heart broken. I didn't even know that places like mosby foundation existed. They came to our rescue and with their generous donation my baby is now happy and healing after her surgery! Thank you so much

I contacted this organization when I ran into being short on getting medical care for my little man. ( An Italian Greyhound-Dog). The lady who contacted me was very kind, sincere, and caring. She did not take very long at all and helped us when we were struggling to get all the payment together. This place is amazing and very caring! We appreciate all they did and they kept up to date with us as well.

I adopted my senior, Trudy with limited vision and a can-do attitude. When I learned she would need her eye removed, I did not know how I would manage it. I had lost 2 dogs less than a year before and both required expensive emergency treatment which left me with huge credit card bills. I started to research funding and found the Mosby Foundation. They were so kind and helpful, and gave us a generous grant which helped me tremendously to help my little Trudy. Her glaucoma eye came out and she was the belle of the ball once again. I had nick-named her Trudy Blue Eyes at the start of our life together, but it soon changed to "Trudy Magoo" and I couldn't love her more. Without the help of the Mosby Foundation I'm not sure what we'd have done.

What is one of the worst feelings in the world? Knowing you can help your pet, but you can't afford the surgery. The Mosby Foundation made my nightmare go away. They helped pay for my dogs surgery and now I have spent 2 years with him that I wasn't guarenteed if he wasn't treated. They are kind and honest. Thank goodness for organizations like them.

A few years ago, some friends and I found a dog that had been severely beaten in the head with a baseball bat. The cost to help this dog survive, was more than we could collect. The Mosby Foundation contributed and helped tremendously, and "Johnny Walker" survived and was placed in a loving home. There are so many other dogs all over the country, whose owners have been able to pay for their medical care, thanks to this one of a kind Foundation. They are the best.

I have applied too a huge number of organizations like this and The Mosby Foundation was one of the few that got back to me right away and followed through with what they said they were going to do. I had been through two surgeries for one dog and then suddenly my other almost died from kidney cancer. It was very traumatic. I did not know about all the help there is out there, nor did I really have the time to search as both situations came on very suddenly. Now I know.

So being deeply in debt from saving my babies (who are both doing AWESOME!) and having a low income has left me in a state of panic. Even with the online fundraiser I started it only made a dent in our expenses. And now I am having health issues of my own leaving me unable to work a normal schedule. I still had minor procedures that needed to be done for the dogs and because they weren't urgent not a lot of groups could consider help. The folks at the Mosby Foundation were so nice and even though they were only able to help a bit I was so incredibly grateful. Every penny counts at this point. I will continue to spread the word about the Mosby Foundation through my dogs' Facebook page with the hope of gaining some exposure for this wonderful organization!

Thank You Mosby!!!

Love Melissa, and Lady and Princey‚ô• (Even though it was Princey you helped with, Lady says thank you very much!)

I have two of the most precious Cocker Spaniels that were rescued during Hurricane Katrina and they are very very dear to me. They are the sweetest babies and now at 9 years old are having some issues with skin growths

I was nervous about growths at this age and so I took them to Angels of Assisi and both of them need these growths gone and one also needs dental work.

Anyone who has two dogs knows how expensive this can be, but when you are on a fixed income like I am it is hard. I need to do what is right for them.

That is where The Mosby Foundation came in. Jeanie at Assisi recommended I contact them rather than waiting and not having my girls taken care of.

Karin at Mosby was kind and considerate and didn't make me feel uncomfortable and when she let me know that both my babies could be taken care of with a small amount that I could afford on my part, I was so happy.

My Shamrock and Clover survived one of the worst Hurricanes any two puppies would have to go through due to the efforts of the rescue teams and Soulful Hearts that took them in and put them up for fostering.

Now, another wonderful agency, The Mosby Foundation is helping to keep them well.

Thank you is just not enough to say!

We rescued our Zoe at the age of 2, she is now 10, she has always had constant ear infections, she is a cocker spaniel and we quickly found out that this very common with this breed. She eventually got to the point where she now is in need of a TECA operation (total ear canal oblation), the cartilage in her ear has begun to calcify. Zoe is at high risk due to the fact she went into respiratory arrest after having a teeth cleaning and a tooth removed and because of her age. The operation will be approximately $6500 to $7000 to have both ears done. We could not come up with this amount of money on our own. I searched on line and found some organizations that could possibly help, The Mosby Foundation was the first to respond, I have dealt with Karin Magno thru this whole process, she has been soooo helpful! She in detail explained everything to us and was able to give me other ideas to work on more funding. She was also very patient thru all of this, she kept in touch with us and helped us to get approved! I would like to thank her and the whole Mosby Foundation for all their help, I would recommend them to anyone that needs this type of help!!
