THE FAMILY PLACE INCORPORATED Overview
Someone who had 3 hours of volunteer time could: For over 30 years The Family Place has strongly relied on the help of many volunteers. People from different backgrounds have been committing their time and dedication to support our programs in different ways. The Family Place offers a variety of fulfilling volunteer opportunities. The length and extent of the volunteer commitment depends on the need of the organization and the program area the volunteers will be helping with. Examples of volunteer opportunity include but are not limited to:
assisting our educators in the Early Childhood Education classes,
assisting in the day and evening Plaza Comunitaria classes,
providing professional expertise in a specific area for our families (e.g., child developmental screenings, psychotherapy, etc.),
providing clerical support,
assisting with grant writing, and much more.
Programs: There are three program areas; Family Literacy, Family Stability, and Family Wellness. The Family Literacy program addresses the educational needs of both parents and children; the Family Wellness program provides parents with the tools and resources to create a healthy home environment; and the Family Stability program provides emotional support, assistance and material resources when a family is most in need. We continue to respond to the critical need our participants face for services that can secure them a place in the economy and enrich their lives.
