The Eden Projects
Mission:
Poverty reduction through environmental stewardship.
Results:
We have planted more than 45 million trees and created more than 455,000 days of employment for impoverished local villagers. These millions of trees are halting erosion, bringing rain back to areas plagued by drought, and enabling the people to live off the land again. The jobs that are provided are enabling people to buy their way out of slavery, send their children to school, and procure needed medical care. Poverty is being eliminated. The environment is being restored.
