Address:

1110 Camino Del Mar Suite B Del Mar CA 92014 USA

Mission:

Believing that people with diabetes should be the best prepared and motivated to take charge of their health, TCOYD offers a unique and very personal way to understand diabetes and to educate patients to become the most active members of their health care teams. Through conferences and health fairs held in cities across the nation, TCOYD annually brings thousands of people with diabetes, those at risk and their loved ones into contact with national and local medical professionals and others with expertise related to living with the disease for a day of highly informative and motivational programs. TCOYD participants can hear lectures, participate in screenings, and speak one-on-one with diabetes specialists including physicians, exercise specialists, dietitians, diabetes educators, podiatrists, pharmacists and ophthalmologists. Throughout the sessions, participants receive unbiased information on the latest findings of clinical research, the emergence of new equipment and medications, proper diet and exercise, legal and insurance issues, and the resources that are available to people with diabetes and their families. At the midday break, a seated banquet luncheon features an entertaining and inspirational speaker, who shares something from his or her own experience of living with diabetes. A health fair with 50+ informational exhibits from national and local diabetes-related companies and organizations is open throughout the day. TCOYD’s reach is unparalleled for encompassing an every-growing, diverse, actively engaged audience of people who care about living healthfully. We work with international communications firms; state and national government agencies; university health systems, private providers, institutions, and other health service organizations to nurture TCOYD’s message of health education and self-advocacy deep within communities across the country.

The TCOYD conferences and health fairs have made a significant impact on my quality of life with diabetes. Their conferences are so motivating and the amount of resources they have to offer are unparalleled.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The control of my diabetes

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

nothing!!

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The people at the conference, including the doctors and nurses really care about diabetes education and value the attendees of the conferences.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Excellent! The staff is one-of-a-kind and the volunteers are very helpful.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Educate all Americans living with diabetes about proper management and care. They would significantly change the face of diabetes in this country.

Ways to make it better...

I wish they had more conferences in my area!

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Funds. They would be able to bring more programs to more areas if they had more funding.

One thing I'd also say is that...

If you have diabetes, attend a conference!
